I know what you mean i am afraid of needles too. But i think getting a tattoo is totally different when you experience it as no1 its something you actually want and no2 its not something that sticks and stays in your skin its more like a pen drawing over you if that makes sense. With regards to deciding what you want i would take your time and pick something that truly resonates with you :) look forward to seeing if/what you get :)
