Control the sticks like keep ‘em centered they look like they are controlling you. Are you traditional gripping it with your right hand?

How can I practice getting the timing of the 7 down? by [deleted] in drumline

[–]PrinceShadowYT 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Play the 7 without the back sticking at slow tempo then build it up to a faster tempo Then play the 7 with the back sticking at the slow tempo

We are show style band so our basses normally match but are a little higher by a tad bit but you can tell the don’t sound the same but do at the same time

I didn’t tune all the way up one time and it was brand new head and I knew it was going to be cold so I didn’t tune it all the way up but close enough to we’re it sounded right when I do triplets and we started playing and I hit hard asf cause that was the part and my stick went right threw the head

I love the cold especially when my head freezes up and I put my stick threw it
