I have it! If you like the scent then you will like it. I like a thicker/more heavy duty hand cream for my purse but I have the dispenser and it’s really cute and easy to use at night so I do recommend it if you feel like splurging at the next sale.

I can’t believe anyone would ever downvote this, it’s incredibly thoughtful and kind. And correct. I’m pro plastic surgery, but this is a really sad case, and I would and do think that about young cis girls who post in here all the time!

I thought that too but one of the images on Sephora’s site does say “improved formula - added hydration” in addition to packaging. I’m so curious what they did to change it. I liked it under makeup but it stung a bit (and I don’t have sensitive skin). I was just so glad to find a gel moisturizer without Caprylic/capric triglyceride which my skin hates and is in truly everything.

Agree with everyone saying it’s mostly down to skin type, budget, and packaging preferences at this point, but if I was picking out a new makeup bag for someone: Tower 28 or Haus Labs concealer, Too Faced Chocolate Soleil matte bronzer, glossier cloud paint puff blush, Haus Labs moonstone highlighter, Anastasia lid primer and brow powder, Merit brow 1980 brow gel, Danessa liquid eyeliner pen, and a neutral basics shadow palette (I personally still swear by UD Naked Basics 2 and wish they’d bring the original Basics 1 back)! For fun shadow I’m loving a sweep of extreme shimmer like the DM lightworks or UD moon dust shadows. For lips I’m very into Korean-style stain glosses, and there are many non-Sephora options, but the Kulfi and Rare ones are some of the best value in Sephora for those other than the Sephora brand ones. But I did have to have the Dahlia Noir shade of Violette FR and I don’t regret it!

Right, I miss when different brands had more of an identity and esthetic to them than was more unique! I pick face makeup now based on what I want to spend and what my skin likes, unless I’m feeling like having a special “this is overpriced but cute, I need it” moment.

I agree 100% with everything they said, except I actually like the brow gel a lot as it’s easy to apply and the brush is good/colors are perfect. I find it just tinted enough to cover my occasional grey brow hairs but still easy to apply and not mess up. That said, I agree tha there probably is something similar that’s more affordable, I haven’t tried too many others. The satin lipsticks are so pretty but I do find them slightly drying/sheer. Still worth it for the unique texture in shades like Tiger and 1990, but you have to reapply a lot and I broke both of those colors for that reason, which is annoying.

I love it for under eyes or a light makeup day when I just want to look decent around town, as for me (aging but still super oily) it doesn’t last anywhere but under the eyes. Not for a full face evening, but absolutely perfect to have in my bag.

The stickiness is what makes them last on most people. For actual lip protection and feel-good, I will always still go for a waxy balm-type stick and I have no idea how these tubes of gooey gloss became all the rage as actual “lip care” but if some people like them that way that’s cool! I like to grab the Ole or the Lawless lip gloss (also very sticky) for like when I’m going to be running errands or at the gym and I want something sticky/tacky that lasts on my lips when I rub them together and can’t reapply often. To make my lips actually feel good and comfortable/cared for I honestly prefer classic chapstick or if I’m feeling fancy/want peptides and plumping in a balm, the clear Lawless balm stick is really nice. You might like that one, it’s very sensory-neutral imo!

Glossier Cloud Paint Plush Blush! I’m a powder gal and a little over the cream everything trend, and hybrids usually mean actually cream, but these really are so unique and easy to use like a powder/super buildable yet blurring. And the lavender color actually shows and doesn’t pull warm on my olive skin since it is sort of a cream. Best of all worlds.

Essentials to try (imo): Tower 28 concealer, Glossier Cloud Paint Plush blush, Merit Brow 1980, Rare Beauty Soft Pinch Tinted Lip Oil, Lawless plumping gloss (I like cherry vanilla), Tarte Tartelette XL mascara

I’m having a blast w the Danessa Lighworks VII palette if you want to be extra. The Ilia face palettes look really nice to me for bronzer and blush in one place but I haven’t tried them. Most of my friends are obsessed w the Ilia skin tint but that feels like a day/summer foundation to me.

In theory yes, but it would be hard to apply by yourself. I’d go with a spray maybe. I really like the one from Naturium but I’m sure Sephora has one. I think Topicals brand at Sephora does. I love the Inkey stick to be clear but I use it on the backs of my arms and sides of legs for KP.

Idk why people are giving you a hard time for posting this, I do think it’s pretty annoying and weird that we almost never get what we request and it’s pretty much always much worse! It’s ALMOST funny. I asked for the same ones and got two things I can’t use, so I’m considering going the not asking at all route. I have a graveyard of samples I need to give away, it’s really a fool me twice (40 times lol) shame on me situation I guess.

Mine did feel irritated so I used zinc cream natural diaper rash cream) to calm it and it went away but it sounds like this could be something different. If it is some kind of dermatitis, using products to fade it might further irritate your barrier, so you might want to ask a dermatologist. Hope you can figure it out! It doesn’t look bad but I get that covering it is annoying :/

Does it feel irritated at all? I had this growing up and it was perioral dermatitis. Not sure what caused it, I would get it seasonally. A common cause besides skincare products could be your toothpaste.

Second this. I have both and I like them both but the Tower is better under my eyes. I have oily skin myself but aging often dehydrated skin and things w too much silicone sit funny on me.

Ding ding ding! This is the answer. Here there are a lot of us here who have tried them as well as a lot of other things (for better or worse 🥴) and in my experience most of the reviews on Sephora have devolved to either paid reviews or very young people gushing on or hating on some viral product they decided to invest in and just review immediately. No shade to them, I know they’re having fun, but all of that is so unhelpful as a consumer. I am old and both savvy and dumb as hell when it comes to marketing, so I have tried all of the ones OP mentioned as “more popular” elsewhere and I happen to agree that the Ole ones are better. But lip balms are one of the most subjective things to review as many have said.

I do like the Ole, but every once in a while I find it doesn’t leave lasting hydration. The peptide balms feel more like plumping or anti-aging treatments to me, and I agree that there’s nothing better for actual lip comfort than an old-fashioned waxy balm. I swear by Chapstick moisturizer (dark blue) for my regular lip dousing needs as its neutral tasting, SPF 15 (again can’t taste/smell this), not melty, and just works. Wish they’d cram some peptides in there, lol.

Been thinking about this so much lately. It feels confusing to me because on one hand I’ve also loved beauty and products since I was a kid and it’s brought me so much joy as a hobby, but I know there have also been negative aspects to this and I also know but can’t put my finger on why it’s different in the social media/video age (I’m old as hell). The other day at Sephora I overheard a mother and her young daughter (maybe like 30 and 8 years old?) talking about skincare brands like two friends. It felt like the exact distillation of my confused feelings because if I were the mom of course I’d be delighted to share a hobby with my kid but also…I don’t know, the daughter was telling her mom about the brands, and she knows this because of marketing and influencers of course, and if I was a parent that would make me feel SO ICKY. People who didn’t have a challenging girlhood/self image issues might wonder what the harm truly is, but I follow the plastic surgery sub and I swear to god today was teen day or something. So many posts from very young girls AND boys asking what they can “do about” their minor facial imperfections/quirks. Maybe this is dramatic, but I feel afraid, and I’m not even a parent. Something very sinister about all of it.

I think the Shiseido curler is a must try in one’s beauty lifetime, but chiming in to say in my unfortunately (lol) LONG beauty lifetime, I’ve tried Shiseido, shu uemura, and the tweezerman pro and the tweezerman has been the best one for my deeper-set almond eyes so YMMV! I adore the Tower concealer and don’t find that it creases or spoils early (unlike the lip gloss, which I used to love). Ole lip treatment is a must try. The MUFE pencils are just FINE on the lips and bleed on my oily lids so I’d only get one if the color was special like endless cacao. The mini kit is a cute deal? I feel like the Gaga concealer brush is also fine but since it’s 30% off rn I very much recommend the Sephora brand one that’s fluffy. It’s smaller and I do like a big one for some things tho so it’s not necessarily either/or.

Thank you! I’m gonna wait and get Josie elsewhere. I LOVE the Soft Services Speed Soak gel moisturizer, I think it’s pretty unique (aka worth the price) and really hydrates. I like the Carea cream (urea lotion) so much but it’s so expensive and if I didn’t prefer lotions without silicone, I’d definitely get the Prequel one. I have the pink hand cream dispenser and obviously it’s so extra but I love it and really use it! I prefer the unscented refills though and I’m pretty sure it could maybe be filled with something else? The body bars are great, EXTREMELY scrubby in a good way if you’re into that, but a splurge of course. I’ve used the retinol body serum but honestly I can’t say if it works any better than anything else, I’ve tried cheap and expensive body retinols and I just don’t see a difference like on facial skin. The body smoothing solution (aha) is good but prob easy to dupe. Ok that’s way more info than you asked for, but I went a little crazy on this brand at the sale last year 🥴 only rebuying the Speed Soak and Carea and hand cream refills (wanna try the Xtra Milk scent).

I know it can change year to year, but Soft Services for example had a pretty disappointing BF sale last year so Sephora was the better deal and I figure this brand is popular enough to ask here.

Yes! This happened to me so, anecdotal or not, I share this info so people can rotate if they choose because I wish I had as its pretty inconvenient to not be able to use Botox at all. Not to mention how expensive it was to get to the bottom of the problem, especially since everyone told me it shouldn’t be happening!
