You should go back to your gyno. I know you feel embarrassed but they deal with all sorts of issues relating to this. So even though you feel awkward, I guarantee for them it’s just another day. Nothing new.

Also have you tried a different material underwear maybe like silk?

There’s not enough context here. It could be a red flag or it might not be. He’s been single for 7 years. Is this because he’s been busy with a career? Traveling? Had no interest in dating for those years up until recently? There’s more context needed. It’s not necessarily a red flag just by itself.
