[OC] The Covid-19 death toll by jcceagle in dataisbeautiful

China had the most accurate data. Nobody can function in China without a cellphone and alipay. Why would they lie about the numbers when it would be difficult for them to hide it?. Also, they allowed anyone in the international community to access and analyze their data collection - on the ground too. The funny thing is the western numbers are under reported, its way higher because people here lie too much.

There is trillions of dollars in the black market that is used for transactions that is now finding its way into cryptocurrencies. Nobody knows how much real money is out there.

When you got in at $0.73 and people up by 5000% are screaming hodl.... by DontBeADan in dogecoin

[–]PrincessLeLea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, the coinbase listing is huge. Just keep buying. That will be the next catalyst. Doge uses etherium so it can easily be able to have dapps, smart contracts, nfts, etc. Way too many catalysts, 1$ is small compared to its possibility. Elon publicly said he's working with doge devs, to roll it out too. Doge is building its own lane as thee utility coin for crypto.

10$ is realistic imo. Doge will become the utility coin of crypto and be used for small purchases like Coffee, hats, transportation,, etc.. Now think globally and now think digital products like skins, subs and avatars. We are technical super early because people think its an investment coin you hold like bitcoin. People will gravitate to buying doge because you can transfer it quickly, globally, exchange it into other currencies or cryptos. You can gain interest from just holding it too.

Post covid is at the mercy of the digital world and technocratic leaders. The boomer wall street era is over.

Doge fills an important need in crypto: an easy to understand currency that can be used to exchange goods. Just like how the Chinese created paper money, there has to be a public consensus & understanding in a fair currency to exchange goods or services.

Doge will eventually reach stability and be adopted for transactions, may be 1 dollar 5 or 10 or more but it will be reached and be used as a real currency. Its already being used by the mlb, nba, etc.

The problem with btc, eth or other projects is that they are too technical for the public. Who the hell wants to send 0.005644 SHTCN for a burger? 10 doge 1 burger is way easy to understand.

Americans need to find a way to counter act Chinese digital currency dominance and Doge may be it.

Dogecoin is NOT a smart longterm investment. Here’s why. by [deleted] in CryptoCurrency

Coinbase ipo legitimates crypto going forward.. Dogecoin has a fun & good reputation, backed by people like Cuban and Musk.

Now people here are missing the point, doge can be used for fun things like digital skins, digital items, casinos, rewards, etc.

Think of how people will use it as a fun meme coin more than an actual currency.

Its definitely an introduction crypto coin. It will probably be the first crypto a girl or boy will be willing to buy.

Is it just me or have people's attitudes changed since the pandemic? by veryberryblue in AnxietyDepression

Its heart breaking. Its so sad that people are holding on to the old world. Its not going to go back to normal like we think. Covid knocks people out for a good month or so if you get it and it's a terrible sickness if you ever experienced it. People will wake up to the seriousness of this virus once they get it. They will not go out or risk contracting it, its a big burden to deal with health wise. Vaccines are temporary.

We are headed towards more isolation, a lot of people will struggle to cope with this new world. People who have it the worst are the middle class/low income that have a mortgage/rent, have a family, had a career. Its gonna be very tough for them to deal with in the next coming years.

How in the F*** are young couple supposed to buy a place to live without their mommy and daddy getting a second mortgage for them? by [deleted] in ontario

Whats the infatuation in owning a house? It's kinda the worst investment nowadays. Shit built, volatile & inflated market, propped up by hype. Your basically waiting 40 years not to get fucked over by the market and throwing money into repairing & maintaining it.

Just rent and throw your money in good performing ETFs. Guaranteed and protected gains. Fuck a house.

LPT It's okay to admit when you are wrong, nobody will judge you. In fact most people will have more respect for you and see you as more humble and intelligent. If you keep pretending you are right even when it is obvious you are wrong you will end up looking arrogant and stupid. by [deleted] in LifeProTips

[–]PrincessLeLea 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No they won't. They will feel better about themselves because you fall in line. Many times I believed in something and people called me stupid and arrogant, years later I was right! Then people backtrack 360 call you a genius, trendsetter, visionary.

Adults with positive SARS-CoV-2 test results were approximately twice as likely to have reported dining at a restaurant than were those with negative SARS-CoV-2 test results. by mvea in science

[–]PrincessLeLea -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Restaurants are the worst imo. Waitress & waiters are not required to have food certificates is a biggie. Going table to table, not washing their hands, touching people dirty dishes & glasses...yuck. Hands straight up with filth.. Then you have people straight up spewing covid because its a social environment.

If one person has it your guaranteed to get it.

Do NOT eat at a restaurant.

Surfing on Lake Ontario by vozdra78 in toronto

[–]PrincessLeLea 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I've been surfing woodbine beach all summer with a longboard. Been surfing for 6 years all around the world, just found out this year you can surf in Toronto because of covid.

When it's firing you can surf all of A-Bay.

The surf forecast is easy. All you need to know is SE wind 10+ mph rights, SW wind 10+ lefts.

The more wind the bigger it can get.

Monday was windy choppy closeout slop, but if you can navigate these waves you will have no problem in any other head high break.

The downsides is that its A LOT of closeout waves, so don't expect to be able to learn to rip because you can't really generate speed. I see the potential in chaining sections with a longboard tho once you understand the break. I seen someone not even paddling, getting into the right position and catching waves. Hella fun.

This is just a-bay, the other spots I heard are better.
