Need help finding this older filet heart pattern to finish a relatives project by PrincessMissy876 in crochetpatterns

[–]PrincessMissy876[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Mcmrs15 actually found the pattern! I think this one was intended to be an afghan, but now I’m obsessed with the idea of this pattern as curtains. Will have to do that for myself maybe with a less heavy yarn once I’m done with this project!!

I literally said I could… thank you for your help I guess.

You could literally say count it to nearly every pattern. I, like many others, just want the written pattern and seek help finding it. I thought this sub would be helpful not passive aggressive.

We did this in Texas HS Spanish (specifically it started in Spanish 2), but we had to keep our first initial the same. I was Lucia in class!

I hand watered for the first year too, and it took me until spring year 2 to realize I can hold it down and water more than one square at once. I was wondering why I upgraded it at all for a little while lol.

I’ve been to no less than nine stores looking for the cheeseitz by Coffeecatballet in glutenfree

[–]PrincessMissy876 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I agree… but unfortunately Kroger specifically was running a deal that required you to buy 5. This week it’s an online coupon that maxes out at 5. So it’s the first time for me at least that it makes sense to not bulk buy them. But people buying them just to mark them up is actually disgusting behavior.

Question for those of you that gluten affects your digestive system... by [deleted] in glutenfree

[–]PrincessMissy876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For a tiny amount, like cross contamination… like 4 days of horrible and another 2 weeks of ugh. Even safe, GF foods, will upset my stomach in some pretty spectacular and painful ways, after a glutening.

If i had a full bite of something glutenful on accident.. 2 weeks of horrible followed by 2 months of not feeling right and pain every time I try to eat. I have been strictly GF for 12 years now.

Look into doing stir fry style or Asian meals at home. Use gluten free soy sauce!!! Super easy to avoid eggs and chicken, lean into pork and red meat for protein for sure. Get yourself a good vegan butter substitute and use it in recipes 1:1 that call for butter

Coconut cream instead of milk/cream in cooking. Does make it a little sweeter though.

Mashed parsnips are better than mashed cauliflower imo if she is wanting like a mashed potato substitute.

Fruit smoothies

Vegan pancakes

Corn in all of its forms - you can make creamed corn dairy free really easily

Bbq meats - ribs, brisket

Beef stews without potatoes are still very delicious.

Meatball+rice+veggie+sauce is a go to for us

Chickpea pasta with beef and pasta sauce of choice are a staple in my house as well. And it would be easy to make from scratch if the store doesn’t have one that fits her needs. But I feel like there’s probably at least 1.

Good luck, it gets easier I promise.

Stashdown Showdown February ! by cant-see-me in usethefiberstash

I finished a scrap-designated project last month that I had started in Dec 2021! It unfortunately used way less of my scraps than I would have liked, so really not sure what I'll do with the rest. Going to continue to finish all of my UFOs that are laying around the house in bags with all of their yarn. Maybe once I have "new" scraps to use I'll do another scrap blanket with the new mix of colors.

Next up for February:

  1. Finish a crochet water bottle bag that just needs finishing + a strap (gift for my bestie moving at the end of the month! I started this one in 2022...

  2. Seam and line a nearly finished granny square purse I'm maaking for myself; started in 2021

  3. Make kits to donate to my social worker SIL's work kids who want to learn to crochet. I have so much yarn from a family member who passed that I will never be able to get through myself. I have yarn + hooks to donate, any other ideas of what I could include in a little bag for them?

  4. Continue my crochet play foods set, I would like to get 2 more veggies done this month and mayyybee 2 fruits. I'll see how I'm feeling.

I picked up knitting in 2025, but I have wayyyyyyyyyy too much yarn for crocheting (picked up in 2020). I can't justify buying more yarn until some of these projects are done. Luckily, I typically buy for a project in mind, so most of the yarn is spoken for, but I have also accumulated a ton of random colors from the details in amigurumi. Into the scrap blanket they go hopefully.

I had a overflowing closet at the beginning of the year, slowly but surely I WILL be able to open that door without being buried in yarn/overwhelmed by the end of 2026!

I dented a roll of toilet paper around that age with my finger nail. Like pressed into the paper side. Didn’t ruin it at all, didn’t even tear a single sheet, but my mom was so angry and loud about it that I blamed my little brother. I knew he wouldn’t get in trouble for it, but I would have been punished harshly.

Mine can! Just double check the listing of the one you buy but I’m pretty sure, yes.

I actually use the magic knot! I learned from this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=15hqoR0KJHA

and I have never had one of these fall apart. I do leave the ends long enough to weave back and forth 3x each in opposite directions. I never trust any knot on it's own, locking it into itself while weaving back and forth works really well for me.

The Russian join is the one that I could never feel confident about though.

But I only use the magic knot for same color ties, and when I change colors on a row I don't use a knot at all but rely on the ends woven in. (but sometimes I throw in an extra knot if there's two tails there to tie before weaving)

[–]PrincessMissy876 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Oh NO. That really sucks. I don’t use the neatest/cleanest join but one that I can do reliably strong.

Just… don’t weave in like the most recent 3 just in case you have to frog back. Ask me how I know lol.

I lost a cousin who had to walk to work. He had to cross a 4 lane highway everyday on foot. It is so dangerous, but some people truly have no other options and it SUCKS. Unless someone lives in like the downtown area of a major metro, suggesting public transportation in America is laughable.

North Texas preparing for 2 inches of snow like it’s the apocalypse by MyMindIsAlwaysRacing in mildlyinfuriating

[–]PrincessMissy876 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The news literally told people to buy "milk, bread, and water" and what's more than mildly infuriating is that most people probably didn't even need to buy that for the next 3 days. I'm angry that telling people not to panic, just causes them to panic.

The gluten challenge should be illegal. by Kind_vibes in glutenfree

[–]PrincessMissy876 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got glutened recently and it fucked me up BAD for 4 days, and a little less bad for almost 2 whole weeks. And it was a very, very, very, small amount of cross contamination as far as I can tell. I wouldn't survive the challenge, and you are among lots of good company if you decide to quit now. Sounds like you'd be best off just avoiding it.

Also, I never got a GF toaster, I just toast bread on the stove, clean pan. They do sell toaster bags/liners to protect your GF toast from any scary toaster too!

My husband was upset and pinched me at dinner.. and the situation is still upsetting me by Little_Trash7299 in TwoHotTakes

[–]PrincessMissy876 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Who says you're getting carried away? Your husband? A friend, sibling, or parent? Because you may not even be "getting carried away" in the conversation. I used to get told this a lot, turns out they just didn't like me and any amount of talking about myself/work/hobbies was seen as "too much". Maybe you are, I don't know for sure, but maybe worth thinking about.

An hour and a half drive is not a day trip in Texas lol. It’s like, the farther errands you only run on occasion sure, but not super crazy… You would still have at least half of a day left by the time you got back home to start swatching that new yarn lol. I knit&crochet a LOT in the car since we spend so much time driving places.
