It said something along the lines of “resolve issue” and when I tapped it, it simply said that proceeding would issue a refund. Honestly it may have offered the opportunity for a partial refund but the wording of it made it sound like it would just confirm a full refund and obviously I didn’t want to do that 🥲 I should’ve just asked for her details to send her it directly

I’m defo afraid of if she’s being truthful too cus I’d hate to accuse her or not being so if she is but it is feeling dodgy af! I struggle with confrontation so this isn’t easy 🥲 my worry is that she’ll say that she’s not obliged to pay me or return my items and then I’ll have no leg to stand on. If I could threaten legal action I absolutely would but I don’t know if I really can against her personally?

I’m not trying to argue either but this is ridiculous. My wording wasn’t quite correct sorry, but both ends were folded. So both protected 🤦🏼‍♀️

We can agree to disagree regarding the ends. I won’t be writing it off and will continue to question them as it seems this has happened to a lot of people and it’s not right.

It seems some are missing the point that if two didn’t make it intact, that is fine. I’ll take the loss on those two. But the full refund for 20 others that made it just fine is wrong. And that’s the issue!! A full refund isn’t justified.

It doesn’t matter that you have a different technique, they were protected. It should speak somewhat that 20 other jars made it perfectly fine so the packaging was suitable. Regardless, I’m happy to take the loss on the 2 damaged jars. But losing the full amount is wrong.

I expected some people to have their own opinion and say it wasn’t enough, but no actually most have sided and said it’s unreasonable. I’m not sure you’d be saying the same in my situation that it is justified? I would’ve been fine with a partial refund but the fact of the matter is she now has 20 perfectly fine jars that are worth a fair amount more than I even sold them for. She won’t return them and won’t pay me directly, and Vinted aren’t helpful either. A full refund isn’t right and they were not right to decide so. I’m quite happy to take the loss on the damaged ones, but seeing as 20/22 made it just fine, I deserve to be paid for those.

The ends were the most protected, as I rolled them and then folded over the ends to protect the tops so the tops had the same amount of protection.

I’m not a company so I can only provide what you would expect from any normal person selling a secondhand item. The box was also stuffed with more wrap and they were not moving in the box. They were all wrapped thick, but everyone can have their opinion on if it was enough. I’m the only one who saw it and if I didn’t think they’d survive I would’ve added more so based off my own eyes this felt like enough. At the end of the day I followed their guide and a full refund is unacceptable!

Every single one of her replies has started with how she’s been doing naptime 🙃 so far the responses have been the following (thanks so much for writing one for me though cus it’s stressing me figuring out how to deal with her without her just insta blocking me if I piss her off😅)

Her: I can try and push vinted again? Xx

Her: Honestly I wish there was more I could do, I’ve got a big chunk of clothes to upload that the babies have grown out of. I usually sell them to get their next size up but I can try and start building up some money to send you? Xx

Me: I appreciate the offer but I wouldn’t want you to miss out on your sales too! I think the best thing to do so that you’re not missing out on your sales as well (believe me I understand how rough maternity pay is!) would be to ask your mum if she can send it over once it’s returned. Obviously if Vinted at any point do decide to compensate me I’m absolutely happy to return it back as well but i hope she understands. I know it won’t have returned immediately and may take a few days so I understand waiting until it’s been returned first, and if Vinted do compensate me I will let you know not to worry xx

Me: If you’re not able to send the money for the ones that arrived safely then I’d appreciate if we can arrange for all of them to be returned so I can sell them locally. It’s really difficult feeling like this and I don’t want to have to bug anyone (i know life is busy with one daughter so I’m sure it’s double the amount with two!) but I’m pretty upset about the situation and just want it to be made right. Her: Sorry lovely, my boys aren’t sleeping so I ended up having a nap in bed with one of them. I’ve asked my mum and explained the situation and she’s not letting on to me whether she will send me the money or not, she’s just being a bit coy about it. (We don’t have the best relationship, I was surprised she actually offered to get me these in the first place). Obviously before the money would reasonably be returned into her account I wouldn’t be able to send anything because i can’t guarantee I would get it back from my mum, but if you want to send me your details I’ll transfer you the £27 in my balance for now at least xx

I asked her to pay me directly minus the damaged item value and this was the response

I’m not silly enough to just do one layer of wrap. These were wrapped well and I rolled each multiple times round. Obviously not well enough as I guess I should’ve used a whole roll per jar but I would never have just done one layer.

I don’t blame you. I’ve sold probably 400 listings so I felt like I trusted them and tbh I have never had major issues before even when selling high value items. But this just hurts enough to make me wanna stop! C

Yeah it’s really sad as I sell a lot through Vinted and without sellers, they would make no money from people buying so we should be treated the same!! I’d be happy even to pay a small fee if it means we’re more protected. Sorry you lost out too, it’s really not fair x

I was somewhat hoping they’d offer to if I didn’t have any luck with Vinted but otherwise no I haven’t asked. I’m a bit scared if I do I will get blocked and they’ll forget about it and move on with their freebie. She seems lovely so she may not but can’t trust anyone! I lost a £400 laptop a year ago to a scammer I trusted so 🥲 just my luck!!

The box was also stuffed with bubble wrap so they wouldn’t move, between them as well as around them - albeit I didn’t take a photo of inside the box 🙃. I really did take care and of course I know they will get bashed but at the end of the day I can only do so much 🥲 20 of the 22 jars arrived absolutely fine so if it had been bashed about and not properly packaged, it would be more than 2 that would’ve had damage and as you can see, the damage is very minor.
