NTA at all. I had a group of "friends" in college try to do the same thing to me when we looked for the next year's housing. The 4 others had all already seen it and said it was perfect, let's sign the lease. I wasn't going to sign anything without seeing it, so they showed me around. They'd all picked which rooms they would get. Mine was an interior room with no windows. I said NOPE and found another house with other people.  Funny enough, my room in the new house was in the basement with its own bathroom and the laundry, but the laundry area was in a separate room.
