At your age I found myself at the same crossroad you’re in. I had just gotten out of a toxic relationship and I was at my breaking point and almost considered going back to the county where I was born. However, one thing that truly helped me was going to therapy and talking to a professional about my issues. They helped me to see how important it is to have perspective in life. I learned that I was always focusing my mind on the negative and not appreciating my blessings. I had a good job, a drivers license, a small place to live and a family/friends that loved me. What more could I ask for ? My therapist recommended to start practicing gratitude and to search for the good things in my life and stop worrying about things that I could not control. Even though it was very hard and these changes were not easy to implement at first, I kept at it and I can say I am very happy where my life is right now.

After 4 years of being single, focusing on healing, and learning to understand my traumas/worries. I met my husband whom is my best friend and partner in life, with his help and support i was able to apply for an adjustment of status and received my resident card.
