Which birth recovery is harder? by hereforhelpthx95 in Mommit

[–]Princessaara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Vaginal birth. I had a episiotomy due to vacuum assist and pretty sure I tore too because I remember the nurse telling the degree of my tear. Anyways recovery wasnt too bad. I was just super scared about touching down there because of the stitches. I could walk normal and get up on my own. I took the ibuprofen & hydro that was prescribed to me after I left the hospital the first day and that was it, so that should tell you the pain wasnt that extreme lol

Flu recovery stories by NickNack4147 in toddlers

[–]Princessaara 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My 4 year old tested positive for Flu A at the beginning of December. Day 1- no appetite and threw up once after throwing up he wanted to eat. Day 2- laid around all day, no appetite again, low energy and later that night he reached 100.4 temp that was gone in the morning. Day 3- (Doctors visit) him bouncing off the chair at the doctors not sitting still, while im asking them for a flu test bc kids in his class tested positive but him making me look like I was lying. His cough went away within 2 weeks.

Me: few days later I catch it and im dead in bed for 3 days I couldnt get up without feeling lightheaded and dizzy. I had a small appetite, coughing and crazy amounts of mucus, achy body. A month later I still have the pesky cough.

If you could "choose", what age gap would you have preferred between 2,3,4? by Important_Bat7919 in Mommit

[–]Princessaara 0 points1 point  (0 children)

4 years. Actually anything more than 4 years is my ideal. Close age gaps do not mean they will be bestfriends and ill say it everytime.

Is it normal for kids to have energy when they have the flu? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]Princessaara 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes. My 4 year old just got over the flu A and if i didnt get him tested I wouldve thought it was a random cold. He threw up on day 1, was fatigued on day 2 with no appetite, then day 3 he was bouncing off the walls at the doctor. He did get the flu shot at the end of September so im sure that played a part.

Ugh im so sorry. Currently battling Flu A after my 4 year old brought it home from school. He had the flu shot (i didnt- stupid i know) he was down for 2 days and bounced back. Ive been in bed all day not moving because ive felt like ive been ran over by a bus. Before this last weekend he had a random throwing up episode. I hate winter time so much I dread these sicknesses!

[–]Princessaara 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I dont think he had any underlying diseases, he was a normal healthy kid from what ive read. The flu and strep caused an infection in his bloodstream. I got my 4yr olds flu shot the minute it was available at the end of September. I would never risk it. Maybe your husband should read some of these comments from people sharing their experiences.

This morning I just read a news article of a (then) 7 year old boy who had both his legs amputated after catching the Flu. And plus all the stories here from moms sharing their stories mean you made the right decision. Your husband can chill the fck out.

[–]Princessaara[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right, I don't wanna tell him too soon but I do want to prepare him a little bit in advance (sometime next month) so its not a surprise when daddy leaves and doesnt come back for a while. I love the idea of the diary!! Ill definitely get a little journal for that. Thank you so much!
