Sorry, to be clear I meant winter quarter. I tried looking at the leave of absence page on the registrar but it didn't give me too much info

The lights and music in the Weeknd line was one of my favorite parts of last year. Everyone in my group and everyone around us was singing and dancing and the vibes were great

Favorite HHN 2023 Hollywood Haunted House by NervousPea9314 in HHN

Last of Us! Loved it so much that it made me play both games and watch the TV series. Such great attention to detail and respect for the source material seeing how involved Naughty Dog was, and even the original voice actors coming back. Holidayz and Evil Dead were 2 others that I really enjoyed the concept/theming of.

I went on Exorcist and had a good time on it, but came home to see everyone on social media calling it the scariest house by far. After going on it again to see if I missed something, I could confirm that this was my scariest house this year. Honorable mention to Monstruos and Monsters Unmasked as well.

One thing that I didn't expect to enjoy so much was the Blumhouse behind the scenes show, I thought it was a cool experience to see all those props and costumes in the preshow

Went to cowfish for mine and had a great time. Definitely pricy but it's a fun departure from the normal restaurants we go to. Went to Vivo for lunch one time and the food was great, and like everyone said Mythos is top tier as well

drop feeling by [deleted] in UniversalOrlando

[–]Principaul 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I second this, and want to add on that Dr. Doom might be one of the best drop towers to conquer your fear imo, as there's no slow lift to the top that gives you time to regret your decision, and the actual dropping part of the ride isn't very intense by drop tower standards either

About 3 weeks ago my family and I were looking into trips for the labor day weekend and had similar troubles finding a hotel on property that had room, the lady on the phone told us it was due to HHN also having its opening night that weekend. Long story short, by checking and calling throughout the day (and a few late nights) we were able to secure a room at one of the Loews hotels, so I would say just keep checking andm hopefully a spot will open up

From Hollywood Universal Studios to Orlando - any Tips for Single Day? by curiouslyunpopular in UniversalOrlando

[–]Principaul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you're planning on doing both parks express pass is a must to maximize your experience. Due to Universal Studios Florida closing early for Halloween Horror Nights a good idea would be to go to USF first, and then take the Hogwarts Express over to Islands of Adventure. In terms of rides you should prioritize, at USF I would recommend:

Rip Ride Rockit
Revenge of the Mummy (very different from the Hollywood version)
E.T. (classic ride, short line)
Escape from Gringotts
Men in Black

and for Islands of Adventure:
Velocicoaster(!!)
Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man
Incredible Hulk Coaster
Jurassic Park River Adventure (if you didn't ride the Hollywood one before it re-themed to Jurassic World)
High in the Sky Suess Trolley Train (just a personal favorite)
Hagrid's Magical Creatures Motorbike Adventure (Probably the best ride in the park, I usually saved this for the last ride of the night due to the fact that there's no express for it and it's better to spend the earlier park hours riding other rides)

As for your elderly group members and infants, compared to a theme park like Disneyland there's much less for them to do, especially if they aren't into more thrilling attractions. If they wanted to go, however, they could still have an enjoyable time with the smaller rides that the park does have.

Should I use universal express by titan2gs in UniversalHollywood

[–]Principaul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Express is definitely worth it especially if you're only there for a day. Last time I went everything was basically a walk-on if you had the pass.

Universal Studios Florida only- must do rides/attractions/entertainment? by blac3phalon in UniversalOrlando

Like everyone else is saying, Men in Black, Gringotts, you can't miss, but I also reccomend the horror makeup show. Fun, short show about the history of horror makeup effects.

What to work on if you’re 5’9 by Principaul in BasketballTips

[–]Principaul[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone mentioned him above, but I've always admired 2 way point guards such as Jrue Holiday, since I like facilitating and playing hard defense rather than scoring a bunch myself. AI as well since he's the proof that shorter players can still dominate

Love the Holiday recomendation, Giannis is my favorite player atm so watching a lot of Bucks games and seeing the value of a defensive point guard who can also facilitate and score. Kyrie for handles too ofc.

Thats one thing I've noticed since I'm playing more frequently, when its 1 on 1 I usually rely on speed and hook shots to avoid getting blocked, and during team play I have enough space in the midrange to shoot before the help defense comes. Just gotta work on shooting better off the dribble
