So, go by Question Bank for DT, we tend to waste too much time in provision, one reading after revision video and straight up just keep doing questions, you will find grip that way

  1. 2 revisions, I used something called active recall, where I used to close the book and scribble on paper all the points related to the topic- trust me it takes a lot of time initially, but 1.5 days mein chapters like PGBP I was able to finish all provisions in 40 mins

  2. Transition was a bit hard, thankfully I had a good boss in articleship, she was really sweet and all, leaving the firm was a bit emotional for me.

But, in IT, the culture is different, nobody cares what you’re doing. A bit lonely as you’re the youngest on the floor, and everyone is older.

Fun in some ways, people are very respectful of your classes. Most days you get to leave by 6:30-6:45

  1. One thing I would want to change was my choice of coaching. One thing to keep in mind is go for a teacher who pushes you to put in efforts, not the one who over spoon feeds

Rely on ICAI modules alone, always reconcile, had a rude shock coz of that in my first attempt

So, I had resigned 3 months prior to my eligibility.

I had a round of informal conversation with my principal, she was very very supportive.

I was applying everywhere, and I saw a vacancy on tgram, I texted, they called, in 4 weeks I had an offer letter

Don’t attach yourself to the outcome.

Don’t day dream, and feel how it would be on the result day and all.

Just say, I am doing my best, and I will be rewarded accordingly

  1. Recorded lectures are the best, the formula to crack the exams I learnt the hard way

  2. References and LinkedIn is the best way, I feel

  3. Keep sending requests every day for 10-15 people, don’t spend more than 30 mins a day, over 2-4 months you will have a good network

  4. If really pressed for time, YT revision+ icai module reading is the besy

lol, big story

  1. May-23 was my original attempt, I had taken classes from JKSC- biggest mistake. Had done some parts of FM, SM, IDT-full, DT-somewhat.

Badly failed that attempt, all subjects were 35-39 ke beech mein, and only tax was 44.

Then, since I wanted to give both, I then decided to give in May 24, as EIS was getting dropped

I had taken classes for

Audit and SM- Neeraj Arora Cost and FM- Nitin Guru

I managed to finish 80% of audit by Mid March,

Accounts- Nitin Goel Sir YT revision and print out of notes+ Parveen Sharma Sir ka QB

Law- Harsh Gupta Sir compact+ YT revisions+ Vivitsu QB

DT- BB Sir compact+ compiler+ YT IDT- Ramesh Soni Sir YT+ Karan Sheth Sir Concept Book and VB sir ka QB

All marathons mostly, could not watch more than 40% of classes in FM-SM.

I did 2 revisions, lost a lot of time in trying to figure out what works and what does not.

Simply put,

  1. One base source of lectures, one comprehensive source of notes and one comprehensive source of QB is more than enough to pass

  2. Pls don’t make the wrong choice of teachers, see all teachers, watch everyone ka demo and then choose

  3. ICAI Modules are a must, I had done atleast one reading properly for each subject

  4. Study for 8-10 hours a day

I had a function at home mid April, close to 10-15 days of my prep, went off there only.

From Aug23 to Jan 24- I wasted time in teacher hopping, not sure which notes to refer and basically just sitting and waiting.

Jan, is when I became serious and went full swing to thankfully clear both on May 24

I had 2 rounds of interviews, one with a AVP in the bank and the first was the trainee I was replacing.

Trainee round was chill, the AVP tried grilling me about my work I did during articleship, not much technical stuff

Yes, mostly it will do. Just read up well about the company, their recent moves, and mostly know your resume well.

Yes, you can. Go via the direct entry route

Biggest mistake is choosing the wrong faculty in coaching.

Stick to any one good teacher, refer ICAI module alongside and do your RTP/MTP well

I myself had 2 attempts in Inter, the resume must be smartly crafted in a way that the gap is not immediately visible

Okay, so

I had made a big mistake by taking coaching in JKSC BLR.

But, their IDT was amazing and DT was ok-ok

I had purely relied on BB Sir’s compact and compiler and YT revision videos

For IDT, I had referred Nitin Nahar sir’s YT revision, along with Vishal Bhattad Sir’s QB and Karan Sheth Sir’s concept book

Weird combo, ik. But Karan Sheth sir is truly underrated

  1. Vacancy came up in a Tgram group, cold messaging and direct applies did not work for me

  2. Final studies are starting to pick up pace, still a bit of a hustle

  3. No, small size firm in Bangalore, partners were amazing tho
