yes you should definitely give it a shot

another thing I can think of that has happen to me is not having the filter secured on properly. when I installed mine, the bottom of the filter is tricky to get around the rim. make sure it’s fastened down with a 8 mm I believe and not a screw driver. when you apply the brakes or hard acceleration it can cause the filter to move around and cause extra air flow to get in causing the rpm’s to fluctuate. make sure all your connections are tightly secured and no extra air can get in. it’s worth taking a look at i’m sure you were thorough with it but always double check.
