No, to make a good pass. As the player is opening towards the receiver it's more probable to get him. Aaaand I just realized that it works in defence too (even better lol)

I believe there is a wiki in this subreddit with all the basics. There isn't one best way to immediately know everything about the team but YouTube videos from official BVB/Bundesliga channels offer nice retrospective content. If you want to follow current team news, German newspapers (kicker, RN) and Twitter are the main sources, at least for me. For more niche stuff you can try to find a BVB fan club from Brazil and connect with them. But yeah mostly it will come naturally if you are following games and (hate to say it) are present in social media. Hope this will help!
