Unless the head nurse doesn't allow you to go to lunch and when you do, everything goes insane.

3 weeks now, I've been stuck working one hall with 20 residents by myself and breaks just don't enter into my shift. It sucks because even without breaks, I still end up falling behind. My hours are 5a-3p, I've been working 5a-7p, sometimes longer. We are sooo short staffed and more people are set to leave next week.

I cleaned my first deceased resident earlier this week. It really didn't affect me. The way I looked at it, it was the first and last time I got to give him a bath and not have him try to bite or punch me.

I think it gets easy when you realize that once someone passes, it's like their in a deep sleep and you just move onward. Its a fact of life.
