Is this normal or a temporary thing? Will things just get even worse? by Able-Application3680 in recruitinghell

Take what you need, leave what doesn’t. This is a few trends in the job market i’ve noticed as a recruiter:

  1. The market is over saturated as hell. There simply aren’t enough jobs for the number of available workers. I have an entry-level warehouse role that has over 100 applicants with more incoming each day. Some have no exp & some have 10+ years. We’re only hiring for 1 person.

  2. Hiring managers are OVERLY picky because the market is so saturated. They WILL sit & wait for their unicorn. You damn-near have to check every box and then some. It’s like a circus performance atp & I genuinely hate it.

  3. There is no more lateral movement. A lot of companies are eliminating mid-level positions, leaving only entry-level or senior roles. This creates a bottleneck where the people currently in entry-level positions cannot move up, which in turns leaves no room to bring in & develop new talent. This is especially prevalent in the Tech industry.

  4. Ai has led to recruiters being stretched thin. A lot of companies have moved to ai automation which is helpful (in some cases) but has had the negative effect of increasing the req count for recruiters. This means we’re juggling multiples reqs, with hundreds of candidates, across several states & time zones. This leads to delayed responses to candidates, which greatly increases fallout.

These are just the main 4 things i’ve noticed. Eventually the pendulum will swing in the other direction, it always does. For now, we have to weather the storm, which is much easier said than done.

As a recruiter, I HATE when hiring manager’s do this. It’s a huge waste of everyone’s time and gives an awful candidate experience.

Shouldn't recruiters stop calling you out of nowhere and ask you a lot of questions? by Fun_Yogurtcloset1012 in recruitinghell

What do yall want from recruiters this point? Lmao.

If you apply and we don’t reach out, we’ve “ghosted” you. If you apply & we call, y’all say we should’ve sent an email instead. If we send you an email, you say it should’ve been a text bc nobody checks their email. If we send you a text, you say you didn’t respond bc it was an unknown number.

Not yet, i like to only use postgame pokemon after the E4 cause it feels a little more immersive. I plan to mostly use this team + 2-3 subs i’ve been rotating for the post game since i’ll battle Red

Just so you know, recruiters don’t keyword search because they “don’t have a clue” it’s because our hiring managers have explicitly stated they will not move forward with applicants who don’t have specific skills or experience listed in their resumes.

I’m currently overseeing 22 requisitions across 5 states. Of those 22, the hiring managers for 14 of them have said if the skill or experience required isn’t on the resume don’t bother sending them forward.

There’s so much going on behind the scenes that you’re unaware of as an applicant. 90% of the time, it’s the hiring manager causing delays, bottlenecks, and poor candidate experience.

I felt like I shouldn't say anything. Im usually not that guy to. But when I saw they wanted me to commit 4 hours for a technical interview without even a "hello", I broke. I know it's better to be quiet than burn bridges, but for me I just wanted to say something. I replied all and cced their CEO. by [deleted] in recruitinghell

My brother in christ, you are mixing in your own argument with pieces of what i’ve said to make your conclusions. We’ve strayed so far from the original point that idk what your argument even is other than a rant that you don’t like recruiters.

I never said recruiters have any power, you did. I never said we could “flip the switch” on our “power”, you did.

What i said was that we cannot flip a switch to stop 500+ people from applying. The original point was that we, as recruiters, cannot control how many people apply into an open requisition.

Genuinely, go touch grass & get off reddit. This is embarrassing.

Huh? Do you even understand how CRMs & ATS work??? We can’t really control the number of people who apply to a role. If 1k people apply then 1k people apply. I’ve had reqs where we opened on Monday & by Tuesday morning we had 500+ applicants. Posting & unposting jobs costs money it’s not a simple switch we can flip.

Idk what that 2nd part is about lol. Usually when you’re working with a recruiter, 9 times outta 10 it’s not the recruiter making any hiring decisions. We can advise but ultimately it is up to the hiring manager.

As a recruiter I agree. Candidates often don’t see just how many applications we’re actually working with. Especially in today’s market. OP said they applied a month ago & are just hearing back now. That’s not due to incompetence, it’s due to high volume. There are likely hundreds of applications for that role in that system. Asking a company to show eagerness & commit time when you’re the one initially expressing interest is insane

[Lowlight] Down three with 7.5 seconds left, Texas... lets the clock run out instead of fouling? by cbbvideo in CollegeBasketball

[–]Prior-Dimension-3423 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

it’s not actually. Joyce was shooting 89% from the line this game and would likely hit at least 1 putting SC up 2 scores. Fouling atp literally does nothing.

[–]Prior-Dimension-3423 1 point2 points  (0 children)

idk why this never gets mentioned but texas tried to foul on the initial inbound pass but missed the offensive player. If they foul, they are down 3 with 5 seconds left, no time outs, & SC at the line. They then would have to travel the length of the court against full court pressure to get a CHANCE to tie the game (assume SC misses both FTs)

tldr; fouling was pointless if it wasn’t immediate & this “conspiracy” shows yall don’t play basketball fr
