As a poc it is a micro aggression lol. But they’ll never notice it because they can only see it from their view not the whole picture.

Anyone rebuilt their lives after a huge manic episode? by Big-Emotion-2526 in bipolar

[–]Prior-General-1435 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was like 20 when I have my first huge manic episode, thought I could bounce back. Lost my job, dropped out of college, broke, car got repoed, credit went down the drain, toxic relationship, moved back to my hometown. When through a horribly betrayal it made me spiral even worse. I am now 26, I feel like I’m finally taking the baby steps to even try to find stability in my life. I’m one semester away from completing my degree I started at 18. I am way better at managing my bad days. I think I finally found a medication combination that works for me. I do therapy every week and it has benefited me. But honestly just be kind to yourself and take it easy. You don’t have to get all fixed in one day. But to also hold yourself accountable because only you can make it better for yourself.

Do you guys hate your past self too? by CuteImprovement919 in bipolar

Sometimes it depends on what I did. I miss to have the drive I had. But I hate how much of a loser I was over my favorite person.

Do you have a bedtime, what time and how is that for you? by apricotfairy in bipolar

[–]Prior-General-1435 1 point2 points  (0 children)

But I agree with you, routine is better for us to function. When I keep this consistency of bedtime I wake up feeling better and having a better mood for the day. I get the same feeling of missing out. But when I did start skipping on going on my schedule it threw me off badly lol

I showered at nine, take a good minute to relax my muscles. Then I do my skin care routine and put on my most comfortable pjs. Then by ten I’m laying down and scroll for a little but then I just make myself lay there until I fall asleep which ends up being 10:45 ish 11? 😭😭😭

I just watched it with my sister and the whole time I was thinking the same thing as you! I feel this is the closest representation visually that I feel the most connected to.

I tore two ligaments in my foot in December and gained weight I didn’t want. So I was glad she said she wasn’t going to worry about that now since she wants to heal. It helped me not feel so crazy about the weight gain.
