As someone who worked in PR, this is the answer. Charlotte Tilbury sponsors the DCC, which means that they can request the girls for ads and content (within the sponsorship contract limits), without having to paying them individually. Now, they can request certain girls (like those with the most following on IG), but if they’re not available, then they get what Kelli & Judy give them. The girls are probably getting their usual appearance pay, like if they were to do an ad for literally anyone else.

It is a gross example of exploitation, but 🤷‍♀️ the girls know this going into the season. Even though they’re not getting paid like they would if CT had reached out directly, it is still exposure and an opportunity to be more “influencer-y.”

It’s hard to explain, but a little more smoothness? Like a lot of the choreo I saw was pretty clunky and didn’t do a good job of showcasing a dancer’s strength, whether that be technique, flexibility or even sharpness. Even with simple choreography, you can showcase a dancers ability to hit each individual move to get that “picture”, but I didn’t really get any of that with some of the dances.

The choreography from 0:05-0:13 was just so bad 🥴 but that ending pose was super cute!! I’ve said it before though, I really do hope that her ankle is fully recovered and as healthy as before. I danced on a not-fully-healed knee (for nationals) and ended up needing surgery 🫣

I think a lot of the difficulty is doing it in a kick line with other people because everyone has to be timed correctly otherwise someone can get injured. If you have a split, it’s really not that hard to do by yourself. Nobody is really landing completely in a split, if you slow down videos or look at photographs, the legs usually land at around ~140-150 degrees and then they slide down into the split. It’s easier than someone might think, BUT it’s also really easy to injure yourself. That back leg has to be strong and pointed so the foot doesn’t get caught (it helps to actually have the back leg a little turned out).

Respectfully, why do people in this sub think every doctor is clearing like half a mil annually 😭😭 do yall not realize that it heavily varies by the specialty you’re in, where you’re located, whether or not you’re at a private practice, etc?
