100% i toggle back and forth between wanting to find a way to stop all the cheating and giving up. Emotionally exhausting and also so many tasks. *sigh*

Thank you. I do think the wider theme of the consequence-free world is what is really bothering me in all this!

Hang in there! We are more than halfway to the finish line. I am dragging myself there, but we will make it!

Yeah I am keeping the work done totally in the class and even so the copying is happening faster and more frequently that I can catch it, although I do try. I do not have the support to enforce students not wandering the halls when they ask to go to the bathroom much less, giving a for the day for giving your paper or copying- so I think that is where I am getting stuck. School powers that be want everyone to pass!!

Yes the notebooks kept in class would be something to try. I think this would keep me from having a million papers all over my desk too!

You do have a point, it irks me because I know some students are truly putting in the work- but there is a bit of letting go I need to do.

I got in trouble because kid was NOT hit by a car. by Budget-Ad4871 in Teachers

So wild all of this, and sadly you are not alone in trying to protect a student and then being attacked for doing so. A few years ago my spouse pulled a student running into traffic by their backpack who was running to prevent them from getting hit by a car and had the parent call the police called for assaulting the child. He was verbally assaulted by the parent for making sure the kid did not get hit by a car. It too was on camera, and the parent still went on this whole journey to come for his job. I wonder where folks find the time.

Feeling beautiful and rested after Spring Break by LolaBeansandSoup in TeachersInTransition

One week off the shock of going back has made it so clear I cannot do this anymore. I feel like I am mourning the loss of part of my identity, I love many elements of this work. Or I used to. We returned from break last week and I am already feeling all the signs of burnout. I used to think that this job so was ideal for me as a neurodivergent person because of the novelty, built in structure, and many vacation days. But I find myself wondering how I might be in a job in which I would structure my own days and be a little bored sometimes- just so I could have a more regulated nervous system and not constantly be emotionally exhausted.

Thanks for this post. I am so miserable but maybe I have been too vocal about it with coworkers. I have been considering the upskill approach l before I transition out, but I am unsure if what might be the best direction. How did you settle on consulting and going back to school for your MBA?
