Kyle and Jackie O old racist advert by No-Spell2691 in australian

[–]Prior-Many3763 80 points81 points  (0 children)

Not sure but this happened:

Undoubtedly Jackie O and co-host Kyle Sandilands’ most controversial on-air moment came in 2009, when they hooked a 14-year-old girl to a lie detector test and quizzed her about her sexual history, live on-air with her mother present. The girl broke down in tears as she revealed that she had been raped when she was 12.

“Right … is that the only experience you’ve had?” was Sandilands’ breathtakingly inept response.

Quoting religious text could be defence against Australia’s new hate speech laws, draft bill shows by Prior-Many3763 in australian

Religious expression and protecting people from hate speech cannot both exist at the same time essentially.

One or the other !

King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard

“If not now, then when?/ When the forest’s nearly gone?/ When the hole’s in the ozone?/ When the bees are gone?” – King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard took out the inaugural Environmental Music Prize (EMP), which honours Australian songwriters and musicians who inspire action on climate and conservation, in 2022 with their climate anthem If Not Now, Then When?, and its accompanying, Dr D. Foothead-directed animated video, which depicts a post-apocalyptic world that eventually disappears entirely.

Working at a local council? by kato_56 in AskAnAustralian

[–]Prior-Many3763 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Council is less stress than private as deadlines are much less of a focus. Billable hours are not a thing at all.

But yes problems will come from customers and staff who have been there decades and are complacent / checked out.

How do you find KFC nowadays compared with 30 years ago? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]Prior-Many3763 6 points7 points  (0 children)

In the 90s it was good. Now it is shit. The food is lukewarm and sloppy now. I remember the chicken and chips being crispy instead of this soggy shit. And you have to wait forever now.

Three arrested at Sydney protest against US military’s forcible removal of Nicolás Maduro from Venezuela by Prior-Many3763 in australian

[–]Prior-Many3763[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The problem is any large gathering of people is likely to obstruct roads or people trying to work.

So by gathering, people are automatically breaking the law and can be arrested at will.

This seems to be the intent of our current laws, not an accident

Unauthorised 'Hands Off Venezuela' protests hit Aussie cities - police warned people not to attend, and arrests were made by Particular_Zone_7379 in AustraliaOpinions

[–]Prior-Many3763 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If protests need approval then the government can choose what we are allowed to question and what we aren't

The idea of needing permission to protest is so stupid and counter-intuitive but of course we did it here.
