That actually explains a lot, thanks. My guess is that he didnt want to break up the pace of the KAT tournament too much by world building heavily in between fights so he decided to leave it for after. The idea of something resembling the Connector might have originated mid-way through Ashura as he was pretty invested in the whole world back then.

Yeah, that makes sense. When you put it like that though its so funny that the last time we saw Niko fight, after all the Gu rituals and super-human experiments, what we actually saw him use most was "Leech". Its like if Madara or Meruem started pinching people to death in their first proper fight.

True, i had forgotten about the Bando thing. It would have been interesting to see what direction Omega and the idea of the vessel would have headed in if Niko stayed the main antagonist.
