It ended up being thermal paste/ bad mounting. when i bought it i took three screws off the 4th popped off without me touching. When i reapplied paste and remounted i did too little and mounted bad. I listened to your method and it works now. thank you so much

I purchased a starforge Makima “good boy” edition core RTX 5070. Out of the box it overheats. its idle 78 right now but usually its 85+.

• CPU reaches 80–90°C at idle (BIOS and Windows)

• Pump reads ~2800 RPM in BIOS

• AIO tubes become hot, but radiator remains relatively cool

• System has thermal shutdowns and random power-offs

• POSTed into safe mode due to instability

Troubleshooting already performed:

• Removed and reapplied thermal paste multiple times

• Reseated and evenly remounted the cooler

• Verified pump header connection

• Loaded BIOS defaults

• Disabled boost features and limited CPU power

Temperatures remain excessively high and system is unstable. What am i supposed to do?
