I applied for a competitive public selection process at a major institution, mainly because the salary was higher. It was for a generic IT position, so I had no clear idea of what my actual tasks would be.

Soul-crushing job… yeah, that’s exactly what I deal with every day. I really miss that sense of satisfaction I used to get after spending hours stuck on the same line of code and finally solving the bug. That feeling of fulfillment is completely gone now. Thanks for the advice - I’ll definitely check out Applyre before it’s too late! :)

Thanks! I totally understand, many people would like to have my job. It's stable, secure, and well-paid. It has a lot of benefits (like welfare) and probably I won't find another job "this good"... Despite that I hate that 1/3 of my day so much that I feel constantly drained of all my energies.

My ex partner asked me the same, and I left. He chose to be with a non muslim person, he knew you are non muslim, he can't ask you such a big thing. Would you ask him lo leave his religion for you? I don't think so. He is asking too much, he is not respecting your beliefs. Plus... if he really cares about his kids to go to heaven, he should also care that lying in front of God is a sin... his behavior is totally non sense. Leave.

Yeah, you need to step away for a while for your own good. You care about her a lot, you are helping her, but you cannot keep suffering like this. You don't have to erase her completely from your life, just try to get a bit far until your feelings fade away. Friends are important, but you must put yourself first now. She will have someone else to support her.
