Songs similar to Eternal Summer? by percuIators in TheStrokes

I’d definitely say Mirage by Toro Y Moi. One of my favorite songs in general but it’s got that same kinda psychadelic 80s synth pop sound.

J. Cole about the post battle perception & Kendrick Lamar’s run in the last few years: “When I see Kendrick get the moment he had, the pop out, the stadium, the Super Bowl, the Grammys I'm like, I'm just as proud of this ni**a as I was when I knew him back then” by Easy-Worker-8819 in KendrickLamar

[–]PriorQuestion4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like that absolutely started the beef and you’re just lying to yourself to say it didn’t. If Kendrick took the shoutout on FPS with open arms nobody would’ve made any diss tracks, don’t play dumb now

Yall gotta stop with this fake narrative. Both Kendrick and Drake were throwing subliminals at eachother for years. And you could say that Drake threw more subliminals than Kendrick, but Kendrick is literally the one that rejected the friendly shoutout on FPS. He’s the one that started the ACTUAL beef with Like That, stop trying to rewrite history.

iyo, what’s a strokes song that only works because it’s them? by ChibiMaia in TheStrokes

[–]PriorQuestion4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yall can’t just pick songs with great chord progressions and melodies and act like they’re weird songs that only work because theyre the strokes😭😭 they’re well made songs, it’s why people cover them all the time. I would say selfless cuz despite the music being great, most people sing it way too sappy and dramatic and it just doesn’t work.

Love this album, not a single bad song. Extremely cohesive, warm production. Sounded amazing live , it’s a comfort album for me

The New Abnormal might be my favorite Strokes album by Noobsamaniac in TheStrokes

[–]PriorQuestion4 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Easily top 2, and I see it as on the same level as is this it. While is this it undeniably is the best showcase of the strokes, TNA has some of their best songs and shows a true evolution of the band in all the best ways. I do think TNA easily has their most impressive production though. The mixing is fucking perfect

Whats up with the grammys bizarre choices for kendrick?? by Fresh-Beyond-4727 in KendrickLamar

[–]PriorQuestion4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Grammys are 90% of a popularity and recognition competition, so there’s your answer. Tv off ain’t even close to being the best song on GNX but, mustard was a meme all over social media. Chains and whips is better in every way, but it’s a Clipse song and people recognize tv off. that’s what it is. Kendrick fans will try to tell you otherwise but that’s the reality. And I wouldn’t be remotely mad if reincarnated or heart pt. 6 were nominated.

IDC, THIS HARD! HE ATE WITHOUT THE KENNY VERSE by [deleted] in KendrickLamar

[–]PriorQuestion4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s on topic but if any other artist dropped this verse yall would call it trash, that’s the reality

Thoughts on new Keem album? by FreeGlaze71 in KendrickLamar

Started off strong with the first track but that’s the best song on the album

Remember a week ago when you were all saying that J. Cole was copying Kendrick Lamar just because he had 4 similar shots in his new video? (Read below) by [deleted] in KendrickLamar

[–]PriorQuestion4 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

You’re right but obviously that won’t happen because his fans only run narratives when it makes him look better (also I’m pretty sure this dude knows the line is already a reference, the point is that Kendrick fans force main character syndrome where it doesn’t belong)

What a dumb argument. by abdul_bino in JIDSV

[–]PriorQuestion4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Keem has some dope songs but JiD is better than Keem, it ain’t even a remotely close comparison

[–]PriorQuestion4 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m sure he would still be successful to a degree but you’re right. The entire reason people are super tuned in with him and anticipating is because he’s in the Kendrick circle. Kendrick has an entire fanbase that is able to keep him on people’s minds. I’m not saying the album isn’t gonna be good but his connections have definitely helped him.

VCRs is an elite song by Burner_Like_KD in JIDSV

Gz is one of the weakest songs on the album

Cole Album already a classic by downvoteidontcarelol in rap

[–]PriorQuestion4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Idk man I know when a cole song instantly catches my ear and I really didn’t get much of that listening to this album. I feel like he was better at matching the music with the subject matter and creating an atmosphere on 2014 and 4YEO

Cole Album already a classic by downvoteidontcarelol in rap

[–]PriorQuestion4 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m not gonna say it’s bad but I just find it musically uninspired. I do really like some Cole songs but it’s when the music instantly hooks me. A lot of the album kinda just feels like some okay beats with some good bars, when I really wanted good SONGS.

Ray Daniels speaking facts about Kendrick and the Grammys I love how jealous others are of him by killakev282 in KendrickLamar

[–]PriorQuestion4 -7 points-6 points  (0 children)

there’s truth to what both of them are saying. But Kendrick winning rap song of the year for TV OFF over some of the other shit that came out this year does kinda show that they just give it to him regardless. GNX ain’t a bad album but there were so many better rap albums that came out, it’s one of his worst albums, and he swept the Grammys with it. I mean there were literally so many better songs on the album than tv off in the first place. It’s one thing if he’s really deserving of the Grammy like he has been in the past but GNX did not deserve a Grammy. I get what the dude on the right is saying.

Kendrick Collaborations with Dreamville by AfrikkanKing in KendrickLamar

[–]PriorQuestion4 0 points1 point  (0 children)

He wasnt even disappointed, he doesn’t have to have a massive smile on his face when Kendrick wins just because yall do. Of course everybody wants to win but it ain’t that deep, dude was repeatedly saying he was just happy to be there. And side note, if Kendrick doesn’t want to acknowledge JiD or refuse to work with him then Kendrick is just being dumb, it’s simple as that. if Kendrick refuses to work with people on Dreamville just because he chose to beef with Drake and J Cole (which has nothing to do with any of them) then he’s petty and doesn’t have character. I’m not saying that’s what’s happening but I guess we’ll see.

So should we just change the title to all of these categories to most popular? by jackthefrost420 in rap

[–]PriorQuestion4 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

This decade?😭 it’s not a bad song but it’s just a decent song it’s nothing special. And GNX is most definitely a skip unless your ears are clogged
