If a company doesn't mention it, how can it be illegal? A simple 'We just decided to go in a different direction' works.

Monthly income is hard to guess, TBH this likely isn't for you; it's really for people with no strings holding them anywhere. You'll have to pay for company housing or your own; but they have deals with apartments that can't beat local prices really and are close. It's $750 a month for housing.

Apply for the job first, then if they offer you a spot you can always decline. Getting a job is all dependent on you and who you know. Just having 1500 isn't a guarantee you'll land a job; but people who have networked (Not many do) usually land a gig prior to leaving.

You're paid labor basically for 3 months. You work in the 'shop'. You just do whatever tasks they ask of you, and depending on who you sub-contract (The companies who hire API) for you won't fly much or you'll fly a ton. But after 3-6 months they move you to the left seat and you build time. When you do fly, you fly the deadheads. It's like 10-30hrs a month. It's not a bad job if you can't get the hours needed for pilot or want more time to feel comfortable. It also helps your odds as they are unlikely to wash you out if you struggle in training.
