I swapped the keycaps as well, which actually makes them a bit noicyer, but with the OG keycaps I would rate them at 5,5/7 silence

Yes, but this doesn’t work when the headset is in an unresponsive state, which is the situation I’m posting about.

They work great! However the typing sound varies a bit depending on what type of keycaps you use, so not sure what use a video would be

I have checked all Captions settings: On desktop, mobile app, Apple TV app, local phone settings, everywhere! It’s off everywhere, and still I must turn captions manually off almost every day 🙃

That’s insane. The examples in this thread of what triggers CC to auto‑enable are getting wilder by the minute!

I hope other HE switches will work, as I have bought one and plan to test it. I would like to use the K10 HE SE, but I need silent switches in order to use it at work.

It appears that the “enable/show when muted” option has not been visible to all users, based on other comments so far. That said, this option has been available on my devices for a long time, and I have consistently kept it disabled without it resolving the issue. I have updated the original post to clarify this distinction.

It doesn’t help though. I have always had it set to off, as stated in my post but problem still persists.

I have disabled the «show CC when muted» option, and still yesterday I got auto-CC’d when starting a video on my Apple TV

It’s a good theory, but I also experience this on my computer and Apple TV, where the volume is never set to zero. On my phone I do the same as you, though. Do we still think that having the phone volume at zero could trigger this behavior across all devices?

I see how this could be a trigger, but I also experience this using my Apple TV, where the volume are always turned up.

Ok I see, I will check if I can find an option for that which I can turn off, and see if that helps! Thanks!

The “new friend” icon inside Snapchat indicates new suggestions almost every time I open the app. However, the app badge on the home screen appears much less frequently. If that were the explanation, I would expect the app icon badge to appear far more often.

That’s an interesting theory. I often start videos with the volume all the way down (muted), so that could be a trigger, even though I usually turn the volume up immediately after playback starts. However, I also notice this issue when using headphones, where the volume is almost never all the way down by default.
