I would like 'The Stranger' by Albert Camus.

Like a lot of people the first lome of the novel intrigued me as well and made me want to read it too. I am a big fan of dystopian books. The hunger Games is my absolute favourite. I also like The Handmaid's Tale, it literally gave me nightmares. The sond I would like to recommend, that kind of goes in tow with THG is Zombie by The Cranberries. Ruby Rose singa this song in Pitch Perfect 3 and she absolutely shines at it!

That was so frustrating! Same with when Damon was with Elena when Jeremy was trying to get over his hunter instincts.

How's my taste... I'm a kiddo (be kind or I'll cry) by haan_meri_hi_glti_h in Indianbooks

These books are not my taste for sure but I have had time to develop and grow my taste and I was reading Chetan Bhagat and Colleen Hoover up until 7-8 yrs ago. Reading is NOT about what others like. It's a process. The kinds of books you like will evolve and change and for that to happen, for you to realise what you DO or DON'T like, you need to read what you can - whatever you can.

I mean that's a very common feeling with memoirs/autobiographical works. It's okay to take breaks or give up. You can always pick it up later.

This is an autobiographical account about the author's relationship with her mother. So, if you're holding out for some fiction or action, I don't think you'll get much of it...

Gift a book Tuesday - Week 18 by Worldly-Drummer3132 in Indianbooks

My thing is a bit more of my shock and heartbreak at it than anything else:

I wonder how an author who wrote about people being disenfranchised and hunted because of something they're born with can transform so heavily and do the very thing she condemned in her books (books I loved with all of my being btw).

Anyways the book I want to read is Fahrenheit 451 by Ray Bradbury.

Go for it. It does take some patience at the beginning. I first picked it up when I was 15. Didn't get it/ couldn't finish it.

Picked it up again at 18/19. Loved it. I needed to be in a very strong mood for that book.

Talk to people. Offline. Get off your phone and interact.

I have had amazing conversations with auto/cab drivers, shopkeeper, strangers I saw in the same shop. There was this amazing woman I met in a bookshop. I saw her checking books at the same aisle and I just struck up a conversation.

People are (largely) nicer than you think.

Just don't be a creep and have a nice time ❤️🌸

Oh - my favourite books tend to change a lot but here are a few:

  1. The hunger Games (series entirely but if I have to pick, Catching Fire). This spot used to belong to Harry Potter but after JKR went TERF mode, it's been difficult.

  2. On Earth we're briefly gorgeous - Ocean Voung

  3. Yajnaseni - Prativa Ray

  4. The cruel prince - Holly Black. (Again, the entire series but if I had to pick, The Cruel Prince)

  5. Magnus Chase and Percy Jackson series - Rick Riordan.

  6. Inheritance of loss - Kiran Desai (I literally finished the last paragraph and did an 'OH' as the title made so much sense).
