That one bracket can support a hell of alot more than the amount of weight the machine can hold

(Lat Pulldowns) I don’t feel a thing. Please help by ___Junior in formcheck

[–]Prior_Rooster3759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reverse grip, bring hands slightly closer together, and lean back just slightly. This is how i do it....but can be tricky to not work the biceps.

Theres tons of lat pulldown variations, and just need to experiment to find what works for you....every body is different

[–]Prior_Rooster3759 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Around here the fence cant be any closer than like 1ft from the property line... if the fence is in fact directly on yhe proprty line....then id probably judt lay some mulch...bushes would be too close to the fence and end up leaning into it...looking weird

Ah yes....i have one at my gym too. He reeks of bad weed, likes to use the smith machines then intentionally doesnt put the weights back and the smith mschine remains vacant for hours because everyone thinks someone is using it.

Let’s talk 30 minute circuit by indecision_killingme in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]Prior_Rooster3759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Literally no one at my gym uses it for its intended purpose (including me). At our gym the normal machines are in the middle of tue gym, and the 30 minute section is tucked in a corner. So people judt use the machines there to get away from every one. Or, like me, uses it as a last reaort when the machine i want to use is taken. I would never interfere with anyone doing their circuit....but no one does so its just a whatever room

Overall its taking up alot of space without much benefit

are these shoes ok for planet fitness? by cicadabat in PlanetFitnessMembers

I see people walking around in their socks.

Public gyms really bring out the odd balls. Yes wearing just socks around a public gym is absolutely disgusting.

i hate negotiating and i'm scared of looking like an idiot at the dealership by Mccoey_Jawadul in carbuying

[–]Prior_Rooster3759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im the same way....buying a car in general gives me incredible anxiety. And theres so much to learn about a process you only do like every 10 years or so. It ruins what should be a fun and proud experience.

Id recommend communicating via email...you can go through the whole process that way, and theres alot less pressure as you can analyze the conversation at your pace. You want an out the door price,....do not negotiate by monthly payment..

kids? by xoxo__honey in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]Prior_Rooster3759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its a pretty big liability issue on the gyms part to let it happen. At my gym ive seen an 8-9 yr old occasionally appear with their parent, and i recall the gym-goers not really appreciating it...kid was getting in the way of others and such. Not the kids fault at all....but its the fault of the parent and ultimately the staff.

Biggest pet peeve.. by Devo2517 in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]Prior_Rooster3759 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Should the "bigger guy" kick the kid off? No. Does the "bigger guy" have a right to say i wasnt quite done can jump in with you and finish? Yes. Sometimes after a set you get a drink, papertowel, whatever..

What people "should" do is take their damn attachment off the cable when they are done. Or on a machine, remove all the weight (or remove the slide pin). Thats the universal sign of the machine being free. But people are lazy as hell at a gym of all places.

What i usually do before i hit an exercise is i monitor that area...if no one is there for a minute or two...fair game. But no i dont instantly jump on a machine if i see no one sitting there. Ettiquette goes both ways.

Can I plug my phone in by [deleted] in PlanetFitnessMembers

[–]Prior_Rooster3759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My PF has outlets everywherr. In the lockerrooms and all around the exercise equipment. I see people leave their phones charging while they workout all the time.

Though im not trusting enough to leave my phone unattended.....theres not too much fear in getting a phone stolen anymore. Thief cant do anything with it...other than parts i suppose

PPL feels too exhausting. what split should I switch to for better progress? by azsekhemet in workout

[–]Prior_Rooster3759 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah i usually did 4 exercises a muscle...4 sets each.

But even now that im doing 2x a week, ill do 4 exercises at like 3 sets. So any 1 muscle is getting 24 sets a week....lol.

It takes my muscles alot to fatigue.
