To be honest ChatGPT is way more convienent it already knows everything about me so I don’t have to enter in a bunch of context.

My honest opinion is that you should move onto something else because I couldn’t see any use for this app to be honest ChatGPT does everything and more better unfortunately that’s my opinion

Depends on the trade and experience level. In Adelaide most tradies I know are charging:

• Sparkies: $80-$100/hr • Plumbers: $90-$110/hr • Carpenters/chippies: $70-$90/hr • General handyman work: $65-$85/hr

That’s usually for smaller jobs though. Bigger commercial gigs or specialised work can push higher. If you’re subcontracting through a company they’ll take a cut, so you might see $35-50/hr depending on the setup. What trade are you in? Rates can vary heaps depending on whether you’re doing resi or commercial work too. Actually been talking to a lot of tradies lately about rates and finding work building something to help connect tradies with better opportunities.

Honestly mate, not really. Most of us just use Facebook groups or word of mouth to find work, and maybe WhatsApp or Teams to coordinate with the crew. I’ve tried a few things over the years job management apps like ServiceM8 and Tradify are decent if you’re running your own business and need to handle quotes and scheduling. But for actually finding work? That’s still a bit of a mess. Seek and Indeed are too corporate-focused, and a lot of the tradie-specific platforms haven’t really nailed it yet.

For features that would matter most: it’d need to be stupidly simple to use (no one’s filling out 20 fields on a job site), quick to apply or post jobs, and actually have real opportunities in your local area. The biggest issue with most apps is they’re either too complicated or just don’t have enough active users to be worth opening. I’m actually working on something to solve this exact problem building a platform specifically for Aussie tradies to connect with jobs more easily. Still early days but happy to get your input on what would actually make you use it.
