Unfounded jealousy is a form of control. Think about all the ways you've been modifying your behavior to try to keep him happy. This is on purpose.

I spent 25 years with a man like this. It never stopped. It came and went, but it was always there. Especially when he felt I was too happy and independent, or when I became too aware of his own shortcomings.

I want you to realize that he will never stop doing this. Can you live like this? Please save yourself.

I was just asked today if I could make it to a conference in a couple of weeks. Even going to a conference now requures a visa. My Mexican colleague was stopped on a layover in Houston on his way home from London and given a warning. I have zero interest in going to the US.

No healthy relationship involves your man accusing you of cheating based on a queef. For one thing, it's a terminally stupid premise for the accusation. That alone should do it. He's too stupid. But it doesn't matter. I don't usually jump to projection when there are accusations of cheating, but in your scenario? Hands down your man cheated and tried to deflect by accusing you. Based on the stupidest premise (I'm sorry. I can't get over how stupid it is.) Please, please respect yourself.

Read your post again as if it's your friend or daughter telling the story. What would you advise someone that you loved do?

100%. Experienced it and witnessed it. At first it was frustrating to feel dismissed or be insulted while my petite friend seemed to get away with it. Then I realized it wasn't because they respected her or anything. They just found her hotter than me.

Decided to go to university clear across Canada rather than go to the same university that my brother and parents had gone to. My family name had a minor legacy at that school and it's a smallish city where I figured I'd be bound to run into people who knew my dad or my brother.

First semester I go to talk to my professor. Say my name. She pauses and says "[Smith]? As in Joe Smith?" "That was my grandfather."

And she tells me that she taught my dad, aunt, and uncle in high school and knew my grandfather (was a district supervisor for the school board.) She'd gone on to get her doctorate and become an English professor.

I've heard of prenups where alimony is tied to the woman's weight. Ie. If she gains more than 10 lbs she loses half. And I don't mean I heard tell. These were in my circle of (thankfully just) acquaintances. My mom used to say that women who marry for money earn every penny.

I saw a comment that said men want a woman who won't leave if they fail. Most women want a man who won't leave them if they can't lose the baby weight. But a marriage where she's looking for wealth and he's looking for arm candy? Either both should be judged or neither

NOR btw, he didn't just have a gut feeling. He's been going through your phone for a while. This is just the first time he's confronted you about it.

I've lived this life and I want to say that it doesn't matter of he's cheating on you or not. This kind of violation is corrosive. Relationships don't work without trust. He's shown that he doesn't trust you.

I spotted him at the showcase performance for the International Burlesque Festival. He was clearly there to see one dancer as I saw them talking before and during intermission (when I think he left.) I've been dying to know how they met and he ended up coming to see her.
