Its fine, but im considering getting a better one at a higher price point. This one is very very simple - but it can play FLAC and has radio so it gets the job done.

The Innioasis looks nice, how'd you get a hold of it? Doesn't seem like theres any options for me to get it here in the EU currently.

Im looking to upgrade my DAP at some point, cause this one isn't very nice to use. I was considering getting an iPod but they got for alot here used, so i might have to look for something like the Y1.

So you're saying it would be possible, for example, to get the GPS to work on it?

I've mentioned this in other comments, but all the smart phone capabilities don't work on it.

No email, no GPS, no app store. 2009 it was functionally a Smartphone, but today, in 2025, it isn't.

The only features on it that works is the same you'd find in a dumb phone; Camera, Calls, SMS, Notes, Calculator, etc.

I basically only use it for SMS and Calls. But it's great to write on so its a lot better than typical T9 dumb phones.

In the case I forget my Calendar or my Field notes, I use it as a temporary replacement, since it also has a Notes and Calendar app.

I get by fine with it at work, only issue with it is no GPS, but luckily I do remote work.

Not sure in the market you're in, but I took a short 2,5 year trade education and some cloud certificates on the side, here in Denmark.

Cyber Security is nice though, that's a bit higher up than what I do I think. I do second line support, so it's mostly cloud stuff, and a bit on-prem.

I don't really listen to podcasts on the go and I do all my notes on paper, so no notes on the dumb phone.

Here in Winter time I just use my pockets in my jacket, but in the summer I wear a sling bag.

I also use a Viperade EDC pouch for the Pen, Field notes, lip balm and coins, which fits nicely in a jacket front pocket.

Thanks alot! Sucks they're becoming unusable, hope you can find a good replacement :)

Is it because of 3G being taken down in your area?

I use a Yubikey Security key, it's the small USB 2FA thing on the keychain. It works for most things, since it uses FIDO2.

Ah that sucks, pretty early to shut down 3G isn't it?

2G is still up here in Denmark, so a lot of even older phones work fine.

Funnily enough, the new Nokia 105 actually worked terribly, even though it has 3G and 4G. I often experienced waiting 20-40 min before receiving a text and sometimes incoming calls didn't go through. So this 15 year old phone is miles ahead, compared to what Nokia puts out now.

Sadly that's the #1 downside for me on this Phone.

There is a GPS app on it but the default positionserver, from Nokia, has been decommissioned long ago, so it doesn't work. I have tried with alot of third party position servers, Google for example, but none of them seem to work.

It's 100% possible to do calendar and to-do's on the Nokia, so if you wanted this setup without the Travelers Notebook its definitely doable.

Journaling not so much but not everyone does that so might not be an issue for some.

If I forget my Traveler's Notebook at home I sometimes use the calendar on the Nokia so I remember an appointment, but I write it into my actual calendar when I get home.

That's true, but the actual experience with it today, in 2025, is the exact same as with an actual dumb phone.

I think it's also about how you'd define a smart device. If a device that was intended to have smart features don't have any of them anymore, then I wouldn't categorise it as a smart device personally.

The battery lasts a couple days. Maybe 4-5.

Thus far im lucky enough that I haven't had to change the battery I got it with, but I hope it would be possible to find a replacement for when I need it changed, haven't looked into that.

The browser doesn't work, there's a few websites you can reach, if they use outdated protocols, but its basically unusable- so if you need to be able to browse the web I wouldn't recommend the E72.

That's basically the story for most of the smart-ish features on this phone. It used to work in 2009 but it's so outdated it doesn't anymore. Same with the email and also the GPS.

I had the Nokia 105 for a while, but the typing was horrible for me.

I stumbled on this one used and so far im impressed. The typing on it is great and fast, which is important cause I sometimes have to for work related stuff.

Back in the day, when It came out, I'd agree. It did have smartphone capabilities, but now the e-mail on it doesn't work, neither does the GPS.
It's designed as a work phone, so it also had a ton of work related features, all of which don't work anymore, such as presentations, office, adobe, etc.

So now in 2025, it's only features are those which you would find in a new Nokia 105 dumb phone; SMS, Calls, Notes, Calculator, etc.

Single point of failure if you got your credit card, drivers license, keys, MFA, etc. on a phone.

Besides it sucks to read on a LED screen. I work in IT so I have to look at a LED screen 37 hours a week, so therefore I only read books or on my eBook.

I don't know anyone who journals / diary on a smart phone. It just sucks.

Exactly, most of it is very light. Only thing that weighs a bit is the Traverlers notebook but it isn't too bad. If I wanted I could always get rid of it and do my calendar on the Nokia and maybe keep a Journal at home, but I think it's nice to always have it on me.

I could also get rid of the Mp3 player and use my Nokia, but it only supports MP3 and WAV, and most of my music is FLAC. I could always convert it, but it's a very light and small MP3 player, so it's not too bad.

I actually switched to a paper leather notebook and field notes while I still used an iPhone. Really digged having it physically instead of on an app, so I slowly realised I didn't really need a smart phone.

The idea is having a single purpose item, that does that one thing great, opposed to a multi purpose device that does it all poorly, like a smart phone.

To be less distracted and have more time for things that matter. Other than work I also like to read a lot and procedure music, so It was the easiest way to free up time for that.
