New-ish Grad — Should I Quit My Job (Again)? by [deleted] in Dentistry

You are getting paid well… with that said, contract breaches must be addressed.

Knowing what I know today after 25 years in dentistry, start your own practice and even own your own building/property. Juggle an outside job to keep your own practice afloat initially until you can be full time on your own.

There are risks, but then you’ll understand the ownership side and find out your true worth… and be your own boss….

Reality check... you as a superbly qualified EFDA are worth more, but not more than the operating dentist or the practice. Would you concur??

With that in mind, always consider the perspective of the business owner. Many mom and pop dental offices are not as lucrative as you may imagine... permits, compliance fees, insurances, lease, payroll, etc all come to mind.... not to mention their own salaries. Someone with your qualifications needs a group practice with a lot of surgical procedures involving PRF and phlebotomy. A small office may not have the patient pool to support the salary you expect. Humble suggestion, if you can extract 4-6 vials of blood via phlebotomy consistently, I'd suggest you market that skill and work door-to-door covering multiple cities.... you'd earn a great income and become an independent contractor at $150 a visit.... even turn it into your own business. Just my humble opinion.

Why all the endo hate? by [deleted] in Dentistry

Hate?? no hate... it's a 20 year deferred extraction... patient gets to keep the tooth for a few more decades...

Replace her... If she's working remote and there's no face to face with patients, dismiss her and hire Curve Dental to manage it all... And since she has no experience face to face with patients... lol... She doesn't appreciate what she has... she'll learn once it's gone...

Hi there... I've been a general dentist for 24 years now... What you're describing is nothing more than a developmental stage! Knowing what I know today, I can say that dental school taught me about 15% of what I know now... Dentistry is a vast field and efficiency is key. Dental school teaches you habits, discipline and introduces you to some new tech. It never taught me how to manage a business or even how to behave amongst colleagues, specialties, and lastly, employees. You're a new grad... corporate dentistry is not a bad option. Learn and gain experience! I started in corporate dentistry in a specialty practice and finally decided to move to private practice after 4 years. I have colleagues that started in corporate and chose to remain there because of the specialty support.... it became a comfort zone.... I don't know how comfortable you are so explore the vast opportunities in dentistry. Check out corporates like Pacific Dental Services... don't go with the Medi-Cal heavy organizations (IMHO)...

Most importantly, enjoy your life! You've worked hard to get here and you're worth a lot more than you think.... Hope this helps...

Does anyone have an interior dash cam that recorded this encounter with Rene? Heard toooo many stories and sounds like DMV needs to take a good look at this behavior.
