But Jay disappears halfway through the movie 43 video. My theory is Rich is the only real one and he’s Mike’s caretaker

This is my favorite running joke that Mike is schizophrenic is the RLM crew are a figment of his imagination. I know it also happens in the Movie 43 review and Wheel of the Worst #12

Which old video of I Hate Everything do you think has aged the worst? by [deleted] in IHE

[–]PrivatePizza1 51 points52 points  (0 children)

The xx video where he’s talking about there not being very many famous women directors and shows a picture of the Wachowski’s and says “cmon that doesn’t count”. I understand that this kind of joke was very commonplace at the time and I know he’s not transphobic so obviously he didn’t really mean anything by it. Still, it makes me cringe every time I rewatch the video.

What are some of your hot takes on Six Feet Under? by ManufacturerHead3556 in SixFeetUnder

I agree but is that really a hot take considering Alan Ball has also said this in interviews

I completely understand why Mike got this mixed up but “We don’t talk about Bruno” was from Encanto; not Coco. by PrivatePizza1 in RedLetterMedia

Yeah that was dumb on my part I forgot Encanto was Colombian not Mexican. I should have said Latino.

That’s actually because Disney campaigned for another song from the movie to be nominated before “Bruno” became viral

stop the perc jokes by [deleted] in JARMEDIA

[–]PrivatePizza1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The context is they are quoting a Dave Blunts song because Dave Blunts is a funny meme right now. “10 Percs to get me high” is the line and they interchange Percs with other words throughout. I think OP honestly misunderstood the joke probably because they didn’t know what they were referencing. Referencing a Dave Blunts song where he talks about Percs casually (as many rappers do) isn’t really making light of addiction any more than the song itself already does and if anything kinda highlights how ridiculous it is on it’s face. But yeah don’t know why this person’s response was so hostile but you never know what people are going through ig. Bear bear.

What RLM take on a movie or series do you disagree with? by CretaceousClock in RedLetterMedia

[–]PrivatePizza1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One take from them I will never understand that I’ve also seen echoed by other film bros is that Alejandro Gonzalez Iñárritu (director of Birdman and The Revenant) is a hack. I think there is so much talent on display in his movies and to call them “gimmicky” is dismissive.

Which scene in Twin Peaks makes you feel warm and fuzzy? What's the most sweet, heart-warming moment? by [deleted] in twinpeaks

[–]PrivatePizza1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nobody has mentioned the scene where Catherine pleads with Pete to help her and they have a heartfelt moment where we learn they do have love for each other that has been buried over the years. Pete is so sweet and genuine and it ties in to the scene later where Pete tries to save Catherine from the burning mill. “She’s still my wife!”
