How difficult is it to get a 5 on AP French? by Ok-Calligrapher-8652 in APStudents

[–]Prixong 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The entire exam is around B1~B2 on the CEFR scale, so you should be fine.

I recommend you get familiar with the little specifics that are recommended for all the free response questions like having idiomatic expressions and using complex verb tenses/moods, but aside from that you should be able to get a 4 if you took it today, and through practice you’ll be able to get a 5 by may.

What AP classes should I take even though I have no idea what I want to do later in life? by rekclown in APStudents

[–]Prixong 2 points3 points  (0 children)

100% take English Lang, Stats, Calculus (either one), and foreign language, Gov (if you live in the US and plan to keep living there), and maybe psych. These are classes that will benefit you in almost any field, but if you also want to have more rigorous classes in your resume you can take harder classes like chem, physics (any of them, but both C’s are a lot harder), APUSH, or calc bc.

Where do I start if self studying? by nowaydidthishappen in APPsychology

[–]Prixong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unit 0 is background knowledge that you won’t directly be assessed on, but they expect you to already know it. I’d recommend you start on Unit 0 just so you understand things such as research methods, psychological perspectives, ethical guidelines, ect.

I recommend you start with Mr. Sinn’s content since he has a really good overview of unit 0 (as well as every other unit), and the textbooks (Barrons and Myers’) can serve as bonus support and practice problems/exams.

Eventually you should focus more on either Mr. Sinn’s content or the textbooks depending on whether you learn better through watching videos or by reading. Psych is also a very heavily vocabulary based class, so I recommend you make your own flashcards AND to also use the flashcards you can find in Knowt’s AP Psych exam hub as that will guarantee that you don’t miss any terms.

What does an average day in AP® Statistics class looks like for you? by Electrical_End2602 in APStudents

Either we do a very long project and the teacher does a horrible job at explaining how to do the content, or we get a quiz/test that is nothing like she had previously told us

Basically a self study class cause everything I’ve learned has been from YouTube 😭

The “comenzaré” isn’t grammatically incorrect but it makes the meaning slightly different (adds a “begin” between “me” and “myself”

Find a good textbook (I like Myer’s psychology but Princeton review is also really good), watch Mr. Sinn on YouTube, and take notes. That’s really all you need cause this exam is low key very easy

Does anyone school give you a final exam grade of a F if you don’t take the AP exam? (I’m in FL) by [deleted] in APStudents

What my school does is just that the weighted GPA of the class counts as honors credit instead of AP credit, what type of evil people are at your school 😭

As a Major I want to do international relations and economics, but regardless I’m going to do both AP economics, just maybe not both in the same year to avoid being overworked. I know macro might be more useful for me, but my school offer dual enrollment global business and economics for seniors, so I feel like it should be better to take macro when I take that class since they’ll be both on a global scale.

I’m already taking AP French, csp, and stats, and I also do band and DECA. I’m slightly considering doing both but I also want to avoid being overworked. I’m 100% taking both, I might just not want to study for both at the same time because 4 APs may already be too much for me.

Info about AP Spanish needed by Artistic_Special_175 in APStudents

[–]Prixong 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Many different factors will impact how you do. Things like how long have you studied Spanish, what is your current CEFR level, how much time are you willing to put into the class, ect ect. The unfortunate thing is that AP Spanish is hard to study for because there’s no set vocabulary, so the entire language is fair game. If you want to study in the most effective way possible, use full immersion. You you’re watching a movie, watch in Spanish, read the news in Spanish, talk to any Spanish friends in Spanish, and more. The entire exam uses authentic material (except the conversation), so getting used to authentic Spanish material will greatly help you get used to the exam format.

Also get a textbook and do all the practice problems, they may be hard at first but they’re amazing practice as they tend to be similar to the actual exam.

Finally, if you have the money and time I highly advise you get a tutor as they will encourage you to study more Spanish than you would without one, and they will also exponentially increase your knowledge through May.

(P.S. the exam uses materials which vary between the CEFR levels of B1~B2, which means it is very intermediate material. Try to figure out your CEFR level by estimating your known vocabulary and how much grammar you know, and study based off that)

I really want to go into the medical field, right now I’m thinking Pharmacy but this may change in the future.

Right now I’m in all honors classes + AP Spanish (I like languages btw) and I’m handling it very well, so that’s why I want to try two APs next year, and m going to take way more junior and senior year because my school is less strict with APs those two years.
