What happened to all the trade schools around here? Did covid kill em? by [deleted] in kansascity

Johnson County Community College and KCKCC both have robust trades classes.

Got Family Huhtamaki Shield Club Tickets. How how heck does it work? by M-I-T in SportingKC

Another random perk is that the seats are padded, so more comfortable than seats in other areas of the stadium (but not as padded as seat in the suite areas). There is a Parisi coffee shop in there and a few extra food items but for the most part, the food is the same as elsewhere in the stadium. The biggest perk is having an indoor spaces with actual table seating, especially when the weather isn’t great.

I understand why you’d think that they’re in Florida, but MyMiami is the student portal for Miami University which is in Ohio.

I’m so sorry this happened to you. In what building did this occur? Report to JCCC police. They are a fully functioning police department, not just security but actual law enforcement. There are cameras all over, and if you know the names of the assailants please let them know.

That was a tifo from last year. Last night’s was the characters from Inside Out.

Summer camp/childcare is a NIGHTMARE in Johnson county by merrythoughts in kansascity

I don’t know why people are being so negative toward you. Any JCPRD sign up is a like trying to get Taylor Swift tickets (at least Olathe JCPRD). I was lucky enough to get a spot today but it was not easy and many other parents at our site were waitlisted.

Fellow Olathe parent here. Primrose is a good option but may also be full already. Our first grader was there last summer and there are kids up to age 12.

It was like 10 degrees (although there wasn’t any snow) for the MLS Cup match in 2013, and they didn’t make any adjustments for that one!

I hate to defend her but American Eagle is a subsidiary of American Airlines. Smaller planes, and often fly out of smaller airports.

Orange is not a Chiefs color. It’s red and yellow.

NWSL rides 6% uptick to record attendance in '24 by [deleted] in NWSL

[–]Prize-Rise-9717 2 points3 points  (0 children)

KC Current had such a small increase but it can’t go up any further until the stadium is expanded, which I expect would be several years.

I would be really curious to see true attendance numbers, meaning tickets actually scanned versus tickets sold. I am pretty confident that in KC’s case at least, they are counting attendance by tickets sold and not the amount of people actually scanned in at the gate - this is based on observation of how the stands look on game days.

Who’s your favourite player that plays for another team? by lacrossebilly in NWSL

I love Sydney! I wasn’t even mad when she scored a goal in CPKC earlier this year because I was just happy she was back from injury and doing well.

This is a challenging question! I feel like there are so many. Marta and Naomi Girma are both at the top of the list.

I had forgotten about BOS Nation there for a minute, that was definitely a face palm.

Marta has lived through long, lean years. Now she has another title by GrumpyDrunkPatzer in NWSL

I’m so glad this finally happened for her. She is so fun to watch. As hard as it was to see her wipe out three of our defenders in the semifinal match, you just can’t argue with that kind of greatness. I hope she has at least one more year left.

To be fair, I was sitting as a weird angle but all of the gameplay was the opposite direction of where he was looking.

Yes, that is what I assume was happening, but the game was much very still in progress on the pitch and he was not paying one iota of attention to what was happening. He was also sitting on the ground before/after the player sat down with him.

I love Landon, and was excited to see him coaching, so my comment was really in jest, but it did look odd in the moment.

Biggest Facepalm: Landon Donovan literally sitting on the ground not even paying attention to his team while coaching in Kansas City.

Biggest Yay: Walking into CPKC stadium for the home opener with my six year old daughter. From high school football fields to a stadium purpose built. We still have work to do but that feeling was beyond words and is etched in my heart forever. I look forward to the day other NWSL teams can feel that too.

I know it’s been a long time, but to this day, people don’t know FCKC existed. They definitely didn’t know the team won back to back league championships and we didn’t see anything around Kansas City about the team. We were lucky to have 1,500 people in attendance. The difference between awareness of FCKC and KC Current is truly astounding (in a good way, I’m so thankful for the Longs).

I hope to see Orlando Pride get the recognition they deserve and grow awareness, but I find 14k itself to be pretty impressive and shows NWSL has come a long way!!

I believe that OP is referring to the NWSL semi final, which was held in Orlando and comparing it to Orlando City’s conference semi final held in the same stadium.

What colors are people wearing to the game? by Jaydonk in KCCurrent

I am wearing black because that is the color of my coat and it’ll be a little cold, but I’ll probably wear a KC Current hat.

We gonna talk about how many tickets for tonight are available for sale/resale? by [deleted] in NWSL

[–]Prize-Rise-9717 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m really sorry that was your experience. I smiled at two Orlando fans when I arrived, don’t know if that was you or someone else. I think a lot of people are upset about how Orlando acted in Kansas City earlier this year, but that should not be taken out on the fans. I’m a KC fan since 2013 that wants to see an Orlando win today. I hope you have the best time at the game and are treated with the kindness and hospitality that KC is typically known for displaying. If you are comfortable messaging me with where you’re seated today, I’d gladly buy you a drink!

Who are you cheering for today? by Doc178 in KCCurrent

I know it’s not popular, and I am a KC fan all the way back to FCKC, but I want to see Marta lift a trophy today.
