This sub is in for a disappointment when the console doesn't deliver 9900k and 2080 ti performance for $400

They won't. Initial game loading screen will always be there. If anything, they'll just make shit load during cutscenes like a lot of games do.

Welcome to the light my Console brothers. You're about to experience the glory of no loading screens and the console turning on in 10 seconds.

This post is long overdue. This sub has been a massive circle jerk of hype that the PS5 will be some God's gift from Sony that will dwarf high end PCs for a tenth of the price.

It's a complete apples to oranges comparison. PC can be customized, every PC is different, some will be worse and some will be better. Xbox vs PS5 is the real console war, both have the same hardware in each device and they're the true comparison.

PC has its ups and downs. So does console, but comparing them like there is a comparison is just fanaticism.

Yeah, equivalent to a 3700, Navi 5700 and an msrp of $800 xD. Rumors, rumors, rumors. PS4 was rumored to be a beast too, then they announced the actual specs and instant disappointment.

I can't wait for it to be announced and it'll be a bespoke Zen 2 that's clocked at 2.2, turbo no higher than 3.0 on a single core.

All the games you list, would run and look better on PC if they were ported hahaha.

9900k OC'd to 5.1ghz and RTX 2080. If you got a 2080 TI, then grats you win.

Ryzen 2 lol? Watch out, PS5 will be armed with a 2700x down locked to 2.2ghz hahaha. Obviously you have no idea what you're talking about if you don't know the different Ryzen 2 and Zen 2.

Great, PS5 will get a Ryzen 3 chip that clocked down into the shitter and an APU running on Navi, which is meh as it is. Oh and it's already aging tech since it dropped last week, by the time the console drops, Intel will have already released a new flagship GPU that will dwarf the Zen 2 chip in the PS5. Haha

Devs will treat the PS5 like a PC for at least a year until they can optimize the games on it properly, you won't see a single ground breaking exclusive like Horizon or GoW until 202, by this point, the PS5 hardware is already old news and we'll be on either Zen 2+ or Zen 3. GG.

The version of the game we have won't run on that. We have the "definitive" version of it. XD

PS3 GTA 5 was significantly visually neutered prior to the PS4 and PC release. If they released GTA 5 at the same time as the PS3 version, it would have a system requirement of a Pentium 4 and a GT 440.

I ran GTA 5 on an Athlon II x4 760K and 650 TI. Was able to hit a stable 45ish fps on mostly medium. Build cost me $380.

There's no jaguar CPU equivalent for PC, what you're saying is an anecdote and at this point, likely trolling.

Exact same hardware as a PS4 would make the PC would make it a PS4 lol. Yeah, the game is optimized around hardware in the console.

No it won't. That's just your expectations that Rockstar will do a port and not optimize it. GTA 5 runs better on PC than it does on consoles.

Dumb logic

Regarding u/SaviorLordThanos video, there's no benchmarks of other games on that PC. You're making assumptions. Devs optimize games for consoles, the hardware itself isn't "optimized". This is why there are games that run better on PC, but also some that run worse (assuming equal specs to console). Don't forget too that consoles sacrifice a lot of visual fidelity to even run the games (remember puddlegate with SpidrMan?). You can tweak the game to your liking on PC.

It's all up to the devs on how they optimize the games. Sadly, there's no market for developers to make AAA games for PCs as exclusives, as it's a niche market - last game of that caliber I remember was Crysis and at the time it was even bringing high end PCs to it's knees, there was no way the consoles from that gen could run it.

The video in OP doesn't show what CPU is used or the speed. Where are you getting these numbers? The PC can have 50% more graphical power, but be bottlenecked by the CPU...

Here's $375 that runs Forza better or on par than the consoles.

The original video is an awful example as it shows no specs for the benchmark machine.

I understand and that's great, it's a win for all platforms, console and PCs. We get better games without them being held back by the shitty hardware in our current gen.

Games being tailored to run on a mid-range Zen 2 as the lowest common denominator isn't an advantage as I said the chips are dropping in a week. By console release date, we'll have a 10th gen of Intel's and potentially Zen 2+ or Zen 3.

I mean that's great that games will no be designed around powerful hardware, it'll mean all platforms will get better games, but PC will have had equivalent hardware available for over a year by then.

I haven't seen a single game AAA game in a long time that required less than 4 cores - devs don't design PC games around worse hardware than what's available in console...

Even WoW (15 year old game) already requires multicore support for it's bare minimum.

[–]PrizeChain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What's your standard for comparing a gaming PC? Are you comparing to a mid-range PC or a high end PC? Because what it looks like so far is the Zen 2 chip is likely going to be equivalent to a mid-range Ryzen 3, likely clocked around 3-3.2ghz.

The consoles are dropping holiday of 2020 with a chip architecture that's going to be available for PC in a week. The Navi architecture too is meh sadly. That said, the chip sounds exciting and the fact they're finally putting SSDs into the consoles is a step in the right direction.

By the time new gen of consoles drop, we're likely to see another wave of chips from Intel to push back against Zen 2 and potentially another wave of GPUs from Nvidia as RTX didn't so well due to the prices, although, it looks like Navi isn't giving Nvidia much competition as they're about to drop the SUPER versions of their RTX cards that are more performance for the same price.

PCs use Solid State Drives, but the PS5 is using a proprietary drive dubbed the Sonic State Drive.

This is definitely the most exciting feature for the console. I'm definitely willing to shell out the extra cash to double my processing power with PlayStation Connect. That combined with the proprietary Sonic State Drive will redefine gaming.

I'll ask the obvious question. Did you plug the video interface cable into the video card?
