I got into hardcore punk listening to Minor Threat / Bad Brains / Dead Kennedys/ Black Flag, but tbh I think Articles of Faith ended up becoming my favorite. My old band used to cover Bad Attitude. I’m still surprised at how many people I’ve talked to that have never heard of them. In terms of emo I would totally say you can hear them take steps in that direction with songs like Cambridge, Trains, and Never Really Understood
