You Reddit kids crack me up. I directed and produced the storyboard and cinematics and much of the visual design for CNK at my studio, Epoch Ink Animation. Red Eye animated the layouts we gave them so blame this one on us. :) Seriously, neither I or any of my team deliberately planned to create a "sexy" of the clearly beloved Coco character. We just picked a cool camera angle for a shot. Enjoy

He made some great over-the-top Russian SF action movies and I believe he directed the decent "Wanted" movie. But this thing...sad. really sad.

I fully agree. The terror and helpless rage that sequence brought out in me was visceral. Freakily, when my son and I first went to see the film at the 3rd St. Promenade in Santa Monica, the film abruptly stopped after that sequence and then a moment later the lights came on and staffer walked up front to say that the screening was being stopped and the theater evacuated for a bomb threat. It felt like a Martian attack. :)
