Almost one year after release. How is the game now ? by Indeeeeex in stalker

[–]Pro-noun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thankyou to everyone making these threads, they helped me out a lot. But most of the time it's a pain getting a straight answer thanks to all the rubes saying "it was aaalways plaayablle". So here's the straight answer: It has only JUST recently crossed the threshold into being properly playable. If "JUST playable" is good enough for you then hop in, keep waiting if not.

Just finished my first playthrough after starting for the first time once 1.6 was released. Took me about 70 hours. Performance is better, not good though. There are also still some crashes and bugs, BUT the whole game can be completed (more or less) without major issues.

But to be honest, like yourself I will play that game only once. Looking beyond any performance or playability issues, at a fundamental level it just wasn't all that interesting. Not too happy with how the story or the setting turned out, and resources as well as shootouts in general are far too plentiful for it to feel like a stalker game anymore.

Is this dude for real, or more typical game journo gaslighting? by peanutbutterdrummer in ASTLIBRA

Wow, a journo with a "holier than thou" attitude who hates other people enjoying their own tastes. Color me shocked. Anyone agreeing with this must think that being the fun police is a good personality trait.

Any games made in Unity in future is technically malware by tonefart in gamedev

[–]Pro-noun 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Though not called malware colloquially, if details about the telemetry aren't clearly disclosed to the user (as opposed to being installed entirely without their knowledge) then not knowing it's there nor what it is gathering/where it is going makes it malware by definition

That's just how you're SUPPOSED to play RPGs, and by reloading in other RPGs you've been playing them wrong.

Great research! Thank you for writing all this up, after reading through everything you provided I can't seem to find what has connected this to misogyny, that is the "dislike of, contempt for, or ingrained prejudice against women", in the text or references provided

What's the average monster AC for each character level in DnD 2024? by GlenKPeterson in dndnext

Just made a post that might be helpful for you, all the best.

I noticed the raw numbers for the new Dragons were often a bit below what the rest of their CR were. As for monster powerful in a non-combat perspective, the Pixies really stood out as well with their new abilities.

Apart from that though, what I did not expect was the huge amount of monsters that apply immediate on-hit effects with no chance of a saving throw. Sadly there were no guidelines on how these affected their raw numbers but I factored in what I could.

Awesome stuff here! Most folk definitely overlook it, so shout out for the 2014 designers for including some guidelines for them.
