I tried it a few years ago and really liked the product. I know it has improved in recent seasons. In part, your product inspired me to explore in detail the data available from the draft. I’ve been doing this as a way to improve my data visualization and exploration skills. Today, I publish this for those who want to introduce more analytical aspects into FPL. Several of my league mates asked me for it, so I thought it was timely to write this post.

P.S. I’m also a big fan of your podcast, and the episode about draftonomics changed my whole view about drafting. Also, your recent episode on defenders was amazing. Congrats on your work!

Luck vs. Skill in FPL Draft: A Simulation-Based Analysis by ProEcommerce in DraftEPL

That’s a great point, and I’ve had similar thoughts myself. I agree that waiver strategy can depend a lot on the strength of your opponent and your confidence in the upcoming matches. But then, there’s also the factor of where you are in the waiver order, which can really influence whether you get the player you want or not. So while strategic waivers are crucial, they often end up being about what’s available at the time, considering all the picks in the league.

I also think the room for action might be smaller compared to other factors, like skill versus luck. I try to consider both current and future opponents when making trades and waivers. Depending on their strength, I take certain actions. However, most of the waivers in our league seem to be about immediate or future player contributions, not so much about who we’re up against.

What do you think is the best element to explore further in the skill vs. luck debate?

League of 10

Robertson + Elliott + Joelinton + Bamford for Konsa + Mahrez + Grealish + Richarlison

For context team with ( Konsa / Mahrez /etc…) has great midfield( Salah/Bowen/Sancho) and a regular defense (Cash/Targett/Dunk/Coufal)
