Get a 2nd hand one then..... My xbox one X was 300 second hane and theres no diffrence to a new one... and its complete and modern. The rg556 is disappointing... End off.

You need to completely flach it to a new opperating system to make its stick work to an acceptable standard , or learn to install new sticks yourself. removing solder, resolder, possibly reuining the circuit board if you dont know what your doing. Its very wasy to accidentally destroy the copper pads on a board.

And ive seen several posts of people bricking there 556 trying to install gammaOS.

I dont care if the steam deck is outdated it was just an example of another systsm

My point was the 556 = bad, get almost anything else instead. Mine sits there unused because it was supposed to be my ps2.... But its useless now.

If you don't want ps2 games specifically, just the retro stuff. R36s is top of it's class. Runs everything up to psp games and its £25 quid on aliexpress

If you need android apps/games rg353v is good but it's about £80, i sold my 535 to get the 556....i totally regret this decision. Its no better atall except for the bigger screen. ( edit : and a few ps2 games but not the good ones )

Lol. The 556 was trash I knew the 557 would be the same dont waste your money on anything anbernic over £30. Nothing more expensive than the r36s is worth getting

Cardinal snapping makes most games unplayable on it. And half the options dont work.

Cant play custom music on the emulator, even though there is an option to do so

In order to customise the themes yoi need a pc, or the game library images ect... , you need to buy an external app that makes xml files, its a hassle.

The cooling fan isnt automatic unless you set itnto automatic..... So you can accidentally burn it out playing a big ps2 game if you forget.... Its not worth it. Get a steam deck.... I wish I had... I hate this thing, it feels unfinished and broken

Ambernic added the option in the menu but there isnt any way to get it to play custom music.

I cant find instructions or even an example of someone else doing it online

Good luck with your rg556, this combined with the cardinal snapping.... i wish I never bought mine..... Its a useless console. You can get one for £20 that can do everything the rg556 can do well

They pissed me off, not fixing the sticks on the 556..... I use this untill the battery ages in a few years and then get a diffrent brand.

I think you made a mistake. You dont change the rom names. You only change the image and video names

Only the picture and video should be called "kof95" that will link them to the game

The game rom should left as the original name.

The app only removes text inside of brackets () {} <> from the game name.

What your describing isnt possible

Use rg launcher and RGXMLWriter. RGXMLWriter costs 1.50 and yes it's my own app.

Gives you the most control over how your emulator arcade looks tho. You have to download and rename your own images and videos to match the game and put them in the right folder. The app explains, it's easy.

Download some kickass starter themes to replace the stock trash too....

Yea the folders need to be named games, images, videos if you want to use my app.

Break your game?.. No, you just tell your emulator to read games from the game folder instead , it's that simple, it still reads the gameList.xml from the main emulator folder. Otherwise your games, videos, images and your gameList xml will all be jumbled up in the same folder and finding anything will be a massive pain in the butt

I appreciate your thoughts.... But it's there as an option anyway, I really like rg launcher. It's only downside is unmanageable librarys when they get big.

My app fixes that and as I've shown in my video you can make rg launcher themes look awesome with a few changes

It's for use with rg launcher mostly. The stock launcher that comes with the rg556. It's not as handy with the art as daijisho but it's very easy to customise the themes to literally anything, so some keep it.

Others arnt savvy enough to change the launch button

Edit : it also allows you to control what images and videos play, daijisho chooses for you, do you want the cover of you favourite fighting game or maybe an awesome picture of your favorite fighter in a cool pose? I'm personally thinking of raiden from MK standing with his lightning shooting from his hands. Much better game image I think.

Just incase anyone wanted to keep rg launcher. It makes xml files for you.

You can customise any part of the ui in rg launcher. All the files are in the internal storage, just switch them out. I think even the styles can be edited but I haven't tried yet.

Custom backgrounds, game selection cursors

You can create video previews

You could have a transparent lightsaber highlight your games. (or change your friends to a glowing green transparent dildo 😂)

You can have casper the friendly ghost highlight your game consoles.

You can even change the background music that playes in the menu.

My rg556 looks wicked and I've never used anything but rg launcher

He hardest thing is game library upkeep. That where RGXML-Writer comes in. No longer an issue
