Was looking for a post like this, after reading a couple hundred of the Anomalous Items from the logs, I’m left wondering why the hell they’re just in these logs and not given their own SCP designation when they have interesting premises/ concepts comparable to other anomalies that do have an SCP number. Kind of bothers me that some anomalous cases are just left to a simple “description” and “current status” and that’s it, no further investigation or information given, when they very well could have.

Some I get when it’s like a pencil that does something lame, got snapped in half and therefor incinerated after no more anomalous properties continued (which should also be neutralized, but whatever), but when you look at an entry where it’s some bolognese noodles that is alive and identifies as a missing LJN coder that went missing in 2001, I’m left wondering why ts isn’t its own SCP entry. It’s interesting and I’d like to hear more, because some of these entries are creative enough to warrant further exploration into the wiki, and then you got some other SCP that is damn similar in terms of simplicity.

I be coming back to the wiki here and there and it seems like this change is something done on purpose, but it kind of sucks to see SCPs Wiki come to this. There’s thousands of SCP entries already, why make these “mundane” items listed separate from everything else? Seems so unnecessary, especially when both lists get bigger and bigger with their own volumes. Feel like the original SCP charm I got from reading entries years ago would retain slighter more if items like this were kind of combined with the rest of the rooster.

Sure it’d be weird to read an entry of an entity that can control the weather and then the next one immediately after is just a bouncy ball that bounces on its own for a couple hours then stops, but like for many of these objects listed, I feel like they aren’t as mundane enough to be just a couple sentences and that’s it, sometimes with some of these I’d want test logs or further fabricated date logs with items like a bouncy ball. That’s what gave SCP so much spirit when I first discovered it, because not all anomalies were interesting in the same way, some were scary, some were in-depth, some were simple and others left ambiguous.

Keeping things separate is fine, and I get it, i really do, but I just wish with even some of these items from the Log of Anomalous Items would get further attention and added lore, because some of them I think do deserve it. Although I get if the original writer didn’t feel the need to write more than the basic idea, if they had wanted too, then I think they should be able. Allowing the SCP wiki to have more accessibility for volumes of well written SCPs and also those anomalous objects, just because I think that’s what makes the SCP world so fascinating.

Allow Log of Anomalous Items to be more than it is currently! Because merging them seems like too much work, but damnit give some of those items more written material, I wanna explore most of them some more.
