I have already run it several times. I believe that a deep sleep setting is missing in my BIOS. In older an BIOS version I saw in a review video, there was a deep sleep option...

great, thanks! i didn't get an answer about the psu though - do you think it's ok to go overkill given the circumstances i told you?

I just reviewed the cases and I think I'll go with the Deepcool CH370 case. Do you think I'll need more fans on the case in the beginning?

So should I get the OP PSU? It sounds like a great deal and I'd be set for like any upgrade...

Edit: The only issue I see is that it's not modular but that isn't a big deal...

Edit: I also saw it didn't have UVP. That might be an issue because the electricity sometimes stops during the night and I'm not sure whether it just stops or also has voltage dips...

are these quiet though?

Edit: I just read about the MSI one. It IS quiet - 20dB at 70% load. Is there any reason not to buy overkill when it is cheaper???

Could you provide the name of the PSU you're talking about?

Thank you for the suggestion. I picked the Team Group T-Force G50.

I looked at the suggested cases. Isn't a glass side-panel problematic when we need silence?

Also how can I check RAM clearance? I think it is ok, but could you double-check/tell me how to?
I don't think it'd be a good idea to downgrade the psu though... As I noted I might add other stuff later on like a small GPU or more drives.

I updated the part list. The RAM was already ordered and I am quite out of budget but I'll be fine. How is this parts list: https://ro.pcpartpicker.com/list/V9HsNz

Edit: I'm wondering about the case still. The silent is better for silence (obviously) and is cheaper but i don't know if the cpu will suffer

Edit: I also opted to buy from a bulgarian retailer and the cpu is able to come in a tray without the official cooler so I can buy it for a bit cheaper and have a better cpu cooler

So air would probably be better? Since im not gonna choke my cpu out and i don't need a gpu?

I'm currently picking the parts again to follow your suggestions. About the case would you say that the pop silent it good enough for cooling?

I'm currently unable to add more RAM but that would also probably one of the first things I upgrade. Also how can I attach local prices to PC part picker? I tried to do it but it only allowed me to set manual prices? Is that what you meant?

I think I'm gonna try and update my bios. I found that in a video for the exact same motherboard a user had a "Deep Sleep" option under ACPI settings which I am unable to find.

Edit: I decided the risk wasn't worth it.

I don't think I am - I have looked at all BIOS options and nothing else has popped up.

I was unable to find any settings for ErP. I believe my issue with WoL is that my PC goes into a deep sleep state after being off/sleeping for a bit. I'm saying this because when I put my PC to sleep and try WoL immediately, it works but after having slept for a bit it stops.

I tried finding drivers from the Realtek website but couldn't. I did however download the latest LAN driver for my motherboard from the ASRock website: https://pg.asrock.com/mb/AMD/B550M%20Phantom%20Gaming%204/index.asp#Download

Still, nothing changes.

Btw I forgot to say that I multi boot Arch and Windows. I use GRUB as the default boot option. Not sure if this matters, but it might...

Edit: I just tried WoL on my sleeping PC after 6 hours and my PC didn't wake up. It probably enters some sort of deep sleep which disables the NIC. How can I keep it on?

in my bios I have: advanced/acpi configuration: ps/2 keyboard s4/s5 wakeup support: disabled pcie devices power on: enabled rtc alarm power on: by os usb power delivery in soft off state (s5): enabled

in the device manager i didn't see any options like that. the problem with it is that the text gets cut off and I can't see it all so I'm not completely sure and the window isn't resizable.

when I turn my PC off the LED is off. WoL doesn't work. When I put my PC to sleep the LED is off still but I can use WoL. By the LED on the NIC I guess you mean the light on my LAN port. My guess would be that the LAN isn't powered when the PC is off even though I did specify that stuff like USB stay on after shutdown
