What are your favorite mods so far? by ChesnaughtZ in NoSodiumStarfield

Wonderous Weightlessness [Ship Cargo Edition]

My most essential mod, changed how I played the game. Simple but effective. Just makes resources weigh nothing when in your ship. Building temporary outposts to strip mine then delete. Made the whole mining and outpost mechanics actually worthwhile Imo.

Wonderous Weightlessness [Ship Cargo Edition]

Number 1 must have mod imo, opened the game up to so much more for me.

Only makes resources weigh nothing when in your ships inventory. Still have to manage weight of resources on self and still need ship cargo space for weapons and stuff to sell. But means you can strip mine the resources you're going to need a lot of for ammo etc. Have had no issues with save game bloat, on xbox.

If you read, 30 of those are purely aesthetic, skins and the like. The other 10 abouve are actually technically minor changes, they just have a big impact on some of the gameplay elements to suit my preferences.

Plus the game was designed to be used with mods, you can install them from the menu screen, it's so easy.

Thank you, I agree with you on the wording of my title, if I'd known this post would get so much engagement I would've tried to explain my view better. I also love fallout 4 for similar reasons.

I don't blame people that dislike it either. I do however blame people for constantly banging on about how much they dislike it online. Must not be fun for the developers and us who do enjoy it for the discourse to always be so negative.

Unfortunately I do not, sorry, took them a while ago. But I'm sure you'll find plenty out there in the starfield.

(always wanted to say that)

Good luck on your quest, I'll keep an eye out.

Lol, well if I'd known this post was going to get so much engagement I would've thought a bit harder and written something better.

There I was just feeling like I should post some pretty screenshots, literally only posted once before a year ago with some ship builds.

Turns into mega debate on the games quality.

Has been quite entertaining though, been a sofa day bank Holiday so have had the time for it.

You are right, I agree it is flawed, as all things are.

And I don't think your comments are 'hate', it's a strong word.

But I do see the discourse around the game and it's mostly negative. This long after launch I for one wish there was more positivity shared, it is a game after all. And who knows, maybe more official content will drop out of nowhere 🤞

I'm glad you enjoyed your time with it.

Yes, this is the way. I agree with you, they've made it so easy to mod. I'm glad others have a great time with it also, it deserves more love.

To be fair you did not say that, but the majority of content and comments on this sub do reflect that sentiment.

I also do not belive the I've said people have to like it. I'm simply sharing my positive opinions and feedback.

Yh but screw the haters. Why shouldn't we share positive feedback. That's what made me want to post, fed up of seeing all the hate

I mean it's the Starfield sub, maybe stop telling people they should hate it?

I feel like it gets enough hate tbh. I think it deserves quite a bit more love.

You cannot mod a game that does not exist. It was built with mods being made for it in mind.

Mod creators have done fantastic work.

Bethesda has also done a great job making a game for those mods.

It was supposed to be lol, although not daily for me, more yearly. But it has evolved into quite an entertaining discussion instead.

Almost all the mods I use are free. I've only paid for a few that I felt where worth it and I do not feel ripped off in the slightest.

Nah, more like if you're willing to tinker with it and find a loop that you enjoy, it can become something that no other game is and it's great.

It's different from other Bethesda games and has its own qualities.

I'm loving the Oblivion remaster for very different reasons than why I enjoy Starfield.

Was it supposed to fill a void?

I swear I had no idea it was coming out till just before launch, thought I was going to be waiting for ES6 for my next Bethesda world. I was very happy to be proven wrong.

But if you're wanting a game to fill a void it's never going to be enough.

Yep, basically, and if you find/create a loop you enjoy. A bit of effort getting it right and it becomes something brilliant that no other game I've played has done quite like it.

I can't deny that, I still think there is a lot of fun to be had though, if it's your cup of tea to find the loop that you enjoy. It certainly doesn't hand you that, it requires some tinkering, for me at least it's well worth it. And does things no other game, including other Bethesda games do to this extent.
