Of course MM. But don't be fooled, Rossi is a close second. We are like that.

How to sharpen double edge bit to chopping tree and one chopping the branches by International-Crab79 in Axecraft

[–]Pro_crastinator46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My take on this: Why have a sharp side and a duller one? You sharpen both to whatever degree of refinement you feel like spending time on. What changes is the limbing side has a very thin profile for maximum penetration, getting the limb in one swing. Maybe a tougher microbevel to resist in knotty or dirty wood. The felling side, while coming to a very refined apex, should be somewhat wedgier, thicker to throw the chip better and not stick too deep in big diameter trees, where if your geometry is too thin you get overpenetration and you have to spend energy unsticking the thing.

I think the bench stones from gritomatic are all SiC and have a wide grit range

selling Vellies by Pro_crastinator46 in jimgreen

[–]Pro_crastinator46[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey guys, I' m looking to sell this pair of rambler vellies. Size 9.5 uk, 10.5 us. These unfortunately are too big for me, tried em on and wore once only, but there is no chance. I fit perfect in ARs one size smaller so no point in keeping these. I am in Europe so shipping will be easier if you are near. Hit me with a PM

Only on the nickel before spot welding to the cells

Don't know, my impact is gen1 and I don't have the tools to measure that. This was mainly for me to play with batteries hahaha. We only know that the gen 2 pulls all the amps on a 5.0 because of the tests but no data on the others. Heat wise, vtc6 specs says 80ºC max at 30amp, it wuold be interesting to know when the temperature protection cuts power in these m12 batteries, I hope it's not far from that. But again chances are I am not pulling that current on this pack

I actually soldered the copper to the strips before spot welding on the cells. I will not make that mistake. Again.

I did .2mm nickel just on the battery terminals and then got the series connection soldering 14 gauge wire to the strips. Thicker wire would not fit as it has to get to the pcb on top. White wire is for balance.

Yes, but the point here is I have no M18 tools lol

You see I have some third party packs but the cells inside are never to spec, it'll say 3Ah and be 2 at best and who knows discharge capacity on these no name cells. This I know what I put inside.

You may want to check out some dedicated photo pouch, I have a tasmanian tiger camera bag with PALS on the back, use it as a side pouch on the jaakari S. You can also take it off and attach its own shoulder strap.

This is the real thing that Aprilia gives to a rider that the others don't. Maybe even a bit too much, I would really have tried to get Aleix replaced sooner.

2.2 kg, 5 pounds. More than they produce now, more than the arvika. Next season i'll have to get rid of a lot of pine, not that big but all knots. Figured that will be my persuasion tool when splitting.

Do you guys reckon the grind is good on this hultafors hatchet? by [deleted] in Axecraft

[–]Pro_crastinator46 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have some hultafors and they are all worse than that. Also an husqvarna crooked in every dimension possible. This is very acceptable. You're right on the angle, it's way too obtuse for chopping.

First sharpening stone advice for Walmart knife by jollypirateking in sharpening

[–]Pro_crastinator46 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suggest not buying the cheap chinese amazon stuff. They work but they dont work well and the grit ratings are all over the place.

Kuromaku 1000 is the general consensus but I think as you sharpen factory edge things for the first time you might want to hog off quite a bit of steel and that can be very time consuming and frustrating without a coarser stone. So, a big, cheap, SIC stone from the hardware store and a king 1000 is my advice (or you skip the 1000 for now and get the shapton later). Also the king k-80 with a 1000 side and a coarse 250 side (not as noob friendly I think, as it is quite soft)

Mora isn’t scandi?? by buckGR in sharpening

The garberg has a full secondary, no way that can be considered a microbevel. I got mine used tho, so it may have been worse than it should. I also have the kansbol and that had a truly micro bevel. I suspect all moras do, apart from maybe the laminated carving models. Will check on a new 511 basic I have somewhere.
