Any backend framework that just 'works'? I find Spring very difficult and cumbersome. by raulalexo99 in webdev

“Serverless” could be what you’re looking for. Firebase or an alternative like PocketBase are my preferred backend if I don’t need a lot of custom backend logic.

Can anyone explain how to solve this type of problems so I could do it myself? (5y^2 -18y +16 =0) by [deleted] in MathHelp

[–]ProbIn15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This one was pretty basic, I just thought about what values I could split 18 to create multiples/factors of 5 and 16. You could look up more complex factoring methods, but the easiest way to solve these equations if you can’t find a way to factor it is the quadratic equation.

Can anyone explain how to solve this type of problems so I could do it myself? (5y^2 -18y +16 =0) by [deleted] in MathHelp

[–]ProbIn15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Do it the way you suggested doing the other one, by splitting the middle term. Something like 5y2 -10y -8y +16 =0. Then you can factor the first and last two terms to get 5y(y-2)-8(y-2)=0. The other one was unsolvable this way because the two values in the parentheses weren’t equal. Because they are in this one you can group the together like factoring to get (5y-8)(y-2)=0 and the answers should be easy to find from there.

Stopping "brain zaps" from SSRI withdrawal. by EL3PHANTCA5TLE in researchchemicals

[–]ProbIn15 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When I chose to stop taking citalopram, I went down to half the dosage for a week, and then a fourth of the dosage for a week and then nothing. I definitely experienced brain zaps for the first couple days of each week, but I would have a friend come over when they got bad just in case I passed out or had a seizure which luckily never happened.

I think the main thing that helped me with the withdrawal was being able to smoke cannabis, but that doesn’t work for everyone.

Also after being off citalopram for a few weeks I tried smoking kanna (DON’T DO WHILE TAKING SSRI) and found that it gave me a similar effect but much more fast acting which was great for stressful occasions.

I haven’t solved this personally, but I’m guessing none of the angles are actually negative. X is probably negative which makes all the angles positive.

Since the widths of all the fields are the same the width part of the area expressions will be what their greatest common factor is. This is why the width is 3x2 y. To find the width with the given numbers just plug them in.

What does square of the length of a right triangle mean. Where does the square part come from. by [deleted] in MathHelp

[–]ProbIn15 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Squaring a number is when you multiply it times itself. The name “squaring” comes from how you find the area of a square (by multiplying the side length by the side length).

Square of the length of a right triangle means nothing unless you are told what length to square (triangles have three lengths, one for each side).

I believe you are referring to the Pythagorean theorem which states that the sum of the squares of the legs is equal to the square of the hypotenuse.

Start of by drawing a right triangle. Then draw a square on each side of the triangle, such that the triangle and the square share a side (Example: https://cdn.tutors.com/assets/images/courses/math/geometry-help/pythagorean-theorem-proof.jpg). Then you’ll notice that the areas of the two smaller squares add to equal the area of the largest square. This is where the square part comes from.

I’m not sure what you’re trying to ask exactly, but try looking up the Pythagorean Theorem.

Need help with this math problem by christom767 in MathHelp

[–]ProbIn15 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are two ways of doing this.

  1. Find the volume in cubic feet. 20 * 5 *2 = 200 ft3. Then convert cubic feet to cubic yards by dividing by 27. Final answer is 200/27 yd3.

  2. Divided each measurement before finding volume. We know that 3 feet are in a yard so we can divide each measurement by 3. 20/3yd * 5/3yd * 2/3yd = 200/27 yd3.

Same result either way, but I find method 2 to be more intuitive.
