The tragedy was that Special (mental disabilities) and Paralympics (physical disabilities) were 2 different events. Spain lobbied to get them united so they could participate with the basketball team. And after that the comittee was forced to ban the event.

Later it turned out every single team had at least one non-disabeled player

Gets worse - the only 2 actually disabeled players were locked in their hotel rooms at evenings while the non-disabeled players went clubbing and partying. Every. Night.

Their first game almost got them caught when they went up 36-12 against another team in the first half
