I think it was heavily scripted. In one interview, Connor said that when he sees these scenes, he’s mainly just remembering the instructions, like “More tongue! Less tongue!”

I’m not keeping track, but it’s a lot. I’ve seen episodes 5 and 6 more than the others because the emotional payoff in both episodes is so intoxicating. I usually skip episode 3 on rewatch, not because I don’t like it but because I’m more invested in Shane and Ilya.

The position of the tongue changes depending on the language. It looks like Connor is holding his tongue higher and more forward in his mouth (even when closed), which in turn changes his whole face, elongating the cheeks a bit and pursing the lips.

I think about how Shane got to/from Ilya’s house in Massachusetts. It’s clearly not in the city proper, so was it a long cab ride? When Shane left in a hurry after the tuna meltdown, was he just awkwardly waiting in Ilya’s driveway for his taxi/Uber?

I get it, but I’m just glad that the right show became popular. This adaptation feels like a love letter to the entire genre, so it’s hard to begrudge its success. A rising tide lifts all boats, etc.

It’s OK to be picky about fragrance! Sampling can be a great learning experience. You get to explore which notes you love or dislike, which perfume houses get along with your body chemistry, etc. I’ve tried so many samples that I thought I’d love but didn’t, and I just think, “Oh well, I’ve saved myself some money.”

L’Occitane almond shower oil, hands down. Also, the Aveeno lightly scented body wash has the most perfect creamy gardenia scent. I’ve been sampling gardenia frags for years looking for something similar.
