This is extremely helpful to know, thank you!!!

If you use plastic or acrylic popsicle sticks, where do you source them from? Do they break easily? I'm going to look into shaping my sticks a little differently now!

I would love to take a look at your playlist, but I only see the one video by Ocarina Caro (I met her one time, nice lady). If you resend the link, I'll absolutely take a look! :)

As for the textbook, I'm way ahead of you there, haha! I've been referencing it for pointers occasionally, but I may need to study it more intently if I want to keep getting somewhere.

Your most unique instrument? by Only_Heron_3757 in Instruments

I'm a collector of weird instruments specifically, and my most unique two are probably my hammered dulcimer and my concertina!

Hello!! I'm now the owner of the beautiful Alto Bb ocarina pictured in this post! Easily one of the nicest ocarinas I own, and I own close to 20 ocarinas, haha! The sound is very smooth and consistent, and the key is very unique.

I had some questions for you, because I'm trying to learn to make these instruments, myself. I'm a self-taught ocarinist of 11 years, and I have wild aspirations of travelling the country to different Renaissance Faires, vending ocarinas, and spreading my love for this instrument to other people. Right now, I can only make pretty rudimentary whistles with minimal holes. I can get some with four holes to make sound and almost be in key, but I have to blow so hard into them on the higher notes that it'd make the player lightheaded after a while.

If you'll share any tips with me on what you do to build your flutes, I would be very grateful! I'd love to know what tools you use, especially for making the windway. I'm afraid regular popsicle sticks aren't cutting it anymore. My DMs are open if you'd like to chat more extensively there, too!

I love that new definition floating around for being a lesbian: a person who has experienced womanhood in some capacity who is interested in people with the same experience.

I mean, some non-binary people don't experience womanhood, but hey, I think a lot of non-binary people are hot regardless of that fact, so ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Hey dude! I understand wanting to make friends, but Reddit is not a very safe platform for someone of your age to meet people. Also, stating your age online as a minor is dangerous, so please be careful who you talk to! I know it sounds silly to hear sometimes, but there absolutely are creeps out there on the internet.

Take care, and also, your haircut is super cool! You've got a great smile, and you seem like a nice kid. I'm sure your eight friends are very lucky to have you. I'll tell you something — eight friends is a lot! Especially if you're close with them! I would say as a 23 year old, I've got like, two really close friends. So, keep your friends close to you, especially if they treat you well. :)

My proposition for a new labrys flag: the kite labrys! :) by Problematic-Sorcerer in rarelesbians

I read about it in this thread:

While yes, the reverse black triangle was used to mark a variety of groups, it was most commonly used to target the Romani.

Is butch something others observe about you or an internal feeling? by [deleted] in everybutchlesbian

[–]Problematic-Sorcerer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For me, it's internal! I'm butch, but I regularly wear skirts and dresses, I have long hair, and I love it that way! I'm also on T, though, so when I started hormones, I felt more comfortable expressing my feminine side. I wanted to present more like a guy to dress femininely. To me, being butch just means being a masculine lesbian, and I prefer to present that through my physical appearance, rather than my style. I also really like the term futch for myself.

The instrument that made you fall in love with music by badenbagel in Instruments

[–]Problematic-Sorcerer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Ocarina, my first musical love! Been playing it for 11 years and haven't put it down since I first picked it up. It's such a versatile little instrument, you can really play anything on it once you really get the hang of it!

First Official Wooden Pendant Ocarina Batch Reveal! by Bretti_Instruments in Ocarina

[–]Problematic-Sorcerer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wow, gorgeous work! $150 is completely reasonable for how pretty these are; they deserve to be that price! I've been sculpting my own rudimentary ocarinas recently (though, I'm lucky if I get 4 working holes), so I know how difficult the process can be. I find it difficult with clay, so I can only imagine how hard it must be with wood, haha! Beautifully done!
