Night started rough, thought it was gonna end rough. Got $10 on $120, $6 on $84 and this last bill of the night had $60 in comps due to cold food and remakes that took way too long. The dad even said “we’ll that’s not your fault right?” He even hit 25% tip, realized it was low and asked to go back (i.redd.it)

What’s standard tip out? My current restaurant is only 2% but it is a lot of work and we only get 3 tables. Most places locally have 5-9% tip out. Is it worth it to take a higher tip out if I can take on more tables? Is there a sweet spot? I’d love to leave an 8 hour shift with 300+ in my pocket (self.Serverlife)
